Ben Allen5 Stars Out Of 5June 4, 2010Ben AllenThis is another excellent offering from Dr. Greg Boyd the imminent (can you tell I like the guy?) Pastor/Philosopher/Theologian that caused quite a stir among the GBC with his Openness views...but that is another story. This book does not have any open theism in it at all so don't worry all you Piper and Ware fans. This is an excellent little book about an age old practice called "practicing the presence of God." I highly recommend this book to anyone that would like an introduction to this incredible practice. Dr. Boyd demonstrates alongside saints of the past that the practice of God's presence is thoroughly biblical and grounded in a desire to lift up the Lord Jesus and bring one's life under the influence of His Kingdom. Buy this book, you will not regret it. The only complaint I have is that Dr. Boyd who is a phenomenal speaker, did not narrate this! This would be a suggestion of mine. If you find that you like this book, please do read the works that are referenced in it and get to know some of the wisdom of past saints!
