MikeMontanaAge: Over 65Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5Extremely helpful and encouragingFebruary 23, 2017MikeMontanaAge: Over 65Gender: maleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What drew me to this title is experiencing God in new and deeper ways. I have found that the teaching about the Holy Spirit to be extremely limited if not absent in many churches today. You can hear a lot about Jesus, and God, but the power, and the integral relationship desired by the Holy Spirit with us is mostly a passing lesson or comment. The blending of the past revivals from around the world, were presented in a "real" manner to better understand. I found myself completely immersed, encouraged, and blessed beyond words by the experiences he shared along the way. A very engaging text that reads like a long cordial conversation with a friend.

Do you truly believe that? Or does God feel distant, not caring? The Presence by Alec Rowlands will encourage you and help you to realize that yes, God is alive and well! He loves you and me and His Spirit still moves upon the earth and changes lives.
Underneath the title says, "Experiencing More of God." Yes that is what I want for me! I want to continually draw closer to our precious Lord and Savior.
There are many real life stories throughout these fifteen chapters. It encourages me that God can still do miracles and change lives and people's opinions. You cannot put Him in a box and I wouldn't want to. God is so much bigger than what we can imagine.
Here is a quote from chapter one.
"Revival is the overwhelming sense of God's presence that falls powerfully on a Christian people who have become dead or lethargic in their spiritual lives, reviving those elements of the Christian life that God intends to be normal for his church."
There is so much going on in the world that we need to pray like we never prayed before. To truly cry out to God for Him to move in our lives, in our loved ones' lives, in the lives of the youth/young adults, in our towns, cities, countries, etc...
Alec Rowlands shares personal stories and Bible stories to talk about the topic for that chapter. After each chapter there is a signs of revival box. The one in chapter 3 says: "The Word of God comes alive among believers, resulting in renewed obedience to God."
Chapter 12 talks about the importance of finding a local church to belong so you can receive spiritual nourishment. There is a lot of information in this book and interesting to read.
While reading this book, I can feel drawing close to God. To desire more of Him. I recommend this book for all.
I received this complementary book from the publisher in return for my honest review.
Nicki OlsenAppomattox,VAAge: Under 18Gender: Female5 Stars Out Of 5Incredible book!!September 15, 2014Nicki OlsenAppomattox,VAAge: Under 18Gender: FemaleIn Alec Rowlands book he shares his personal stories on some major "Jesus moments" in his life that drew him closer. He also shared how he got back to some of those points after some of the "newness, excitement, and closeness" seemed to fade into the background once again. In sharing his experiences, Alec gives readers a way to connect, to relate and understand how to get that feeling of nearness back.
It's the perfect book on how to get the ultimate experience of God's love and the "father relationship" with us. Now this is not to say that this is a "step by step instructional booklet on getting back to God" but it does help to have someone else's story.A must read for new Christians, as well as those who are older more "experienced Christians" who want to know how to get that close relationship back if they've lost it.
Five out of five stars for teen/adult friendliness as well as an awesome account of his experience and how to "get back to God"! Fabulous book!!
I received and reviewed this book for Tyndale publishers. All thoughts positive or negative are my own and apart from receiving this book I was not compensated in any way for my review.
