In August 2013, Antoinette Tuff protected more than 900 lives when she talked a school shooter back from the brink. Her inspiring story doesn't begin - or end - there, however. First, Antoinette faced pain, hurt, and rejection in her own life, yet held onto grace, faith, and hope. Her amazing account is living proof that God uses all our life experiences - good and bad - to prepare us for our own moment of divine purpose.

As 870 children waited in fear, their elementary school rushed into lockdown mode. As the nation faced yet another Sandy Hook story of tragedy, one woman rewrote the ending.
Yet the story doesn't start with those first steps Michael Hill took into that Atlanta elementary school. It starts with Antoinette Tuff, a woman who faced her own pain, hurt, and rejection, yet held onto grace, faith, and hope. A hope that anchored her in the most high stakes of moments, a grace that allowed her to empathize with a hurting young man, and a faith that gave her the courage to love him back from the brink.
This is more than just the amazing account of tragedy averted. It's the evidence of what we can do when we allow ourselves to be used by God. And it's a story of how God uses all of our life experiences--the good and the bad--to prepare us for our own moment of divine purpose.
Patsy5 Stars Out Of 5Powerful Book!January 18, 2017PatsyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5This book gripped my heart. I couldn't put it down. Her tragic story and God's faithfulness was inspiring. But the practical steps that she took to walk out of her circumstances victoriously are reproducible in any believer's life. It more than just a good read, she gave good advice for anyone that is going through dark times.
Eva P. Scott5 Stars Out Of 5Riveting Faith StoryNovember 5, 2016Eva P. ScottQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 0Do you like biographies? Do you like to know behind-the-scenes of events? Do you like to read stories of people who have overcome difficult times?
Then you will like this book.
This book weaves the story of Antoinette's life with the day she came face-to-face with a man who was intent on suicide by cop.
The story tells what she was feeling during that time and how her most prominent thought during part of the time is something you wouldn't expect. She talks about hurtful things in her life growing up, during her young years, and even on the day of event.
She explains how God prepared her for that day through all she had been through.
The book gives you thought about your own life and how when things look hopeless, there is always a reason to continue. God puts people in your life at the right precise moment to help them. It may not be a big event as Antoinette's, but it could be.
The only warning I would give is, don't read it if you need to get up early the next day! I read the book in about three settings and went to bed late two nights in a row. Ha!

GeeGee5 Stars Out Of 5The Referral BookAugust 25, 2016GeeGeeQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5As soon as this one arrived, my mother asked to read it first. I said sure no problem. She finished reading it in 3 days (this is astonishing because she isn't a reader) and loved it! A friend asked if she could borrow it and I lent it to her. She too found this story to be empowering and asked if she could pass it along to our mutual friend. I have YET to read the book but am anticipating it! My mom just ordered a dozen copies as Christmas gifts.
