DMSELFAge: 35-44Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Precious stories for Young ReadersOctober 8, 2017DMSELFAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Precious Moments Little Book of Bible Stories by Jean Fischer is the perfect board book to introduce a toddler up to a young reader to well known Bible stories.
Many of the Old Testament stories include Genesis' story of creation, Noah, Abraham, and Moses; David, Daniel, and Jonah. After Jonah, the young reader reads about Jesus' birth.
One of the things I liked about this story is the inclusion of "The Lost Sheep". This parable told by Jesus is often overlooked, but one of the best stories for children to learn. I have a soft spot for Mark 4:39, so it was my utter delight to see the chapter "Jesus Calms the Sea". The classic "loaves and fish", plus the story of his crucifixion and resurrection was next.
The book wraps up nicely with "Jesus Lives" and the commandment to go and spread the Good News!
The sturdy book will withstand even the toughest of little hands. This is a children's Bible story book that I highly recommend. And the Precious Moments illustrations really bring the stories to life.

Readerofbooks5 Stars Out Of 5Little Book of Bible StoriesOctober 5, 2017ReaderofbooksQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This lovely little book is filled with adorable Precious Moments characters that will delight the hearts of young and old. Little ones will enjoy holding their very own Bible story board book with easy to turn pages. Parents will appreciate the durability and beautifully depicted Bible stories on each page. Stories from Creation to Jesus resurrection are told in clear, simple language yet with enough description to make the story interesting. Each story has two pages. Page one is the story. Page two is the illustration with a short poem or prayer and Bible verse to emphasis the Bible story. Illustrations have lots of color and cute details such as baby birds in nests and lambs with shepherd boys. There are multi-cultural children included in the illustrations. Jesus is illustrated with olive toned skin. Throughout the book Precious Moment children are shown in modern day settings and in Bible story time frames. The scriptures included can be used to help a child begin to memorize short passages of scripture. Whimsical yet with deep spiritual truths - this book is perfect to help your child know the Bible stories in a more personal way. It can be used in children's church or church schools as devotional readings or at home for family worship or at bedtime before you tuck your little one goodnight.

This is a great little padded board book for little hands. We loved the illustrations like all precious moments collections. The thing I appreciated about this book was that each story has a short cliff's notes version of our favorite Bible stores, along with a little prayer and Bible quote. Each story also has the Bible reference. My little ones loved seeing their favorite stories, Jonah and the big fish, Daniel and the Lions, and of course pictures of baby Jesus. I would definitely recommend this for a baby's first Bible... great idea for baby shower gifts, first birthdays, baptisms, baby dedications.
Rachel5 Stars Out Of 5Sweet read for little onesSeptember 2, 2017RachelQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4I enjoyed reading this book. I am a big fan of precious moments. I remember when I was young receiving a precious moments coloring book that I still have to this day. Something about precious moments has always calmed my soul. Reading the bible stories was refreshing. I do think this would be great in a toddler Sunday school class. The stories are short enough to hold the attention of a two year old while also getting the main idea across.
