    I adore a marriage-of-convenience story!

I adore a good marriage-of-convenience story and I think Cheryl St. John did an exceptional job with this one! When two people are thrown together for the benefit of each other and fall in love in the process is the sweetest romance in my mind. I also love when a widow or widower get a second chance at love where it's least expected, as was the case of both Josie & Sam. So this one ticked a lot of boxes for me!

Wed for the welfare of his three young girls and for Josie to leave behind painful memories and an overbearing mother-in-law, these two set out for Colorado where God has led Sam to preach. What they find along the way is much more then they could have asked or prayed for! I loved watching these five come together and form a loving family, though it was a journey to get there. But isn't that what it's all about? Seeing characters grow and change, and often overcoming things in the past in order to move onto something better. I also saw the theme of finding ones place in Christ but realizing He already carved it out when He called you His own. I really enjoyed "The Preacher's Wife" and thought it was emotional, full of faith, and wonderfully satisfying. The kind of historical romance I love!

Though this is a two-for-one book, I've only read Cheryl's story and my review is for "The Preacher's Wife". However, I will be reading Elizabeth's at some point in time and will change this to add a review.
