Preach To Yourself is the gentle, yet firm reminder all women need. We believe little lies the world whispers in our ears or that our brains tricks us into accepting. Hayley reminds us to go to God's Word to combat those lies and to walk freely in His truth daily. Hayley writes openly and conversationally to encourage women and point them back to Jesus for their confidence and self worth. This is one of the best books I've read in a long time and highly recommend it!

I have been working my way through Preach to Yourself for the last few months and finally finished out the last few chapters!

On a whole, the book felt practical, encouraging, honest, and relatable. I thoroughly enjoyed the parts that shared about brain chemistry and helped show how science proves how God's process can (and does!) renew our minds! While this was not new information for me, I felt like it fit well into the book. The book did a good job at laying out the process of renewing your mind and explaining something similar to CBT which is often used in counseling.

I could relate to some of the lies and lists that were included in the early chapters. Particularly, the lies about pressure to perform and to seek a platform. I appreciated the scriptures that were brought in to reiterate about how Jesus responded in similar situations. The author did a good job at basing the book from scripture while adding in other stories or sources that reinforced the Bible.

In all, I enjoyed the book and I would recommend this book to anyone looking for help in renewing their minds. I would say that a good Christian counselor would be a great asset alongside this book to help combat your inner critic.

Disclaimer: I am thankful to have received this book for free and all opinions are my own.
