The Psalms are about passion, and you should feel passionately when you read them. The Psalmist poured out his soul to God concerning the things that deeply moved him. As you read the Psalms, you are taking a peak into his heart. As you do you will cry when he weeps, shout when he rejoices, burn when he gets angry and fall on your face when he worships God.

Tonya Cranford5 Stars Out Of 5August 31, 2009Tonya CranfordThis book is great! I have found that praying God's Word is the key to a deeper relationship with Him. I also have "Praying the New Testament", and am looking forward to "Praying the Proverbs". This book is one you won't want to be without, by a trusted author!
Annie G.5 Stars Out Of 5August 18, 2008Annie G.This book of 279 pages is awesome ! It is completed, personal, powerful and deepening for our faith. It helps us to verbalize adequately what to say to our God with the wording used in the Psalms. It is written so clearly that the prayers are already done for you. Example for Psalm 20 : "Lord, hear my prayers when pressures come; Defend me by the power of Your name. Come to to me with help from Your sanctuary, Give me strength to endure rejection." etc. etc. etc. Just great when you need to pray and do not know what to say !
David WoodsGrabill, INAge: 35-44Gender: male5 Stars Out Of 5April 9, 2008David WoodsGrabill, INAge: 35-44Gender: maleI had Elmer Towns as a lecturing Professor at Liberty University. His reverence and treatment of Praying the Psalms is moving. I would recommend purchasing this with the "Treasury of David" by C.H. Spurgeon for a wonderfully powerful and insightful study of the Psalms. Dr. Towns in my opinion is a modern day Christian Mystic with a unique and intimate knowledge of God.
