For many Christians, prayer is a humdrum "have-to" task they perform on autopilotbut it doesn't have to be that way. What if you knew you could see change and breakthrough as a result of your prayer life? What if prayer could bring you healing? What if praying could cause you to truly learn who you are and who you're meant to be?
The book of Psalms proves real prayer is anything but boring. The recorded prayers of David and the other psalmists are real, raw, edgy, and authentic, and through their example you will learn to express your deepest hopes, hurts, and fears in honest prayer.
By praying the psalms, you will learn how to identify and express your emotions before God in a healthy way. Through this journey, you will find intimacy with God, deeper community with others, and a new understanding of who you are.
Dr. Rick Stedman is a collector of classic-rock vinyl LPs, bookaholic, author, pastor, and devoted husband and father. He just gives us stories that could pertain to a few Psalms - not even the whole Psalms - and he even did not use them with the meaning it was intended for for some of them - now I am a pastors daughter and the two things my Father taught me was one - do not take someone's opinion as word - they need to back everything they say with Scripture and that Scripture needs to pertain to what they are speaking about - not just pick out a verse that says what they want - and you know that by reading the Scripture around the verse they give you and does it pertain to what they are saying - two - the Bible says that you are not to change add or delete ONE WORD of the Bible and this happens a lot - and this person does both of these - so I personally find it hard to read this book - but that is just me - you might find it very enjoyable - it is all up to what you believe - like I said it is very well written - easy to read - easy to understand. I received this book to read and give an honest review
