How can you find more time for prayer when life keeps you on the run? Maybe the answer is easier than you think.
In Praying in the Messiness of Life, Linda Douty encourages you to incorporate prayer into your daily life as it is, rather than trying to find more time to pray. Her fresh ideas for weaving prayer into each day will help you connect with God even in the messiness of life. You will feel closer to God and better able to cope with your circumstances.
Spiritual director and author Jane E. Vennard says, With the words God is more interested in our growth than our guilt, Linda Douty leads us on an exciting journey of learning to pray as we can, not as we cant. Her stories, prayer suggestions, and reflection questions offer heartfelt and practical ways to stretch open our lives of prayer and help us renew and deepen our relationship with God.
A great resource for individual or group study. Includes reflection questions and a group guide (with options for a 5- or 9-week study or a prayer retreat).

Linda Douty concludes the preface of her book, Praying in the Messiness of Life: 7 Ways to Renew your Relationship with God, with the words, "_God is more interested in our growth than our guilt." These words helped me to feel comfortable as I moved through the pages of her book finding creative and meaningful suggestions to connect with God. This book helped me to look at prayer differently, reminding me that because prayer is about relationship, it really could be possible to integrate prayer into every aspect of my life helping me to become more ââ¬Ëpresent to the Presence'. I'm looking forward to trying more of her creative and practical suggestions! Upper Room Reviews has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book.

Linda Douty helped me see that I don't need to try to find more time for prayer but that I can bring prayer into my everyday life. She offers so many creative ways to pray that I'd love to try, such as soaking prayer (sitting in a tub of warm water and letting myself soak in the unconditional love of God...not trying to say or think anything), praying as I make a bed (for the person who sleeps in that bed), and prayers I can pray when I am struggling to fall asleep. I can't wait to read the whole book and actually put some of Douty's suggestions into practice!
