This book is small, but that is one reason I loved it so much. My life is full with 4 children that have not only spiritual needs but physical needs as well. The book was manageable, and it was full of encouragement and great ideas. I will agree with another reviewer who mentioned that this book didn't go real deep Perhaps the authors larger prayer circle books go into greater depth. However, I believe this book can be more than just encouragement since it does give several ways to walk out the principles. One idea that I particularly have enjoyed implementing is praying though the Scriptures with a particular child in mind as I do my daily Bible readings.

Here is a sampling of some of my notes:

*Distinguish between my will for the children and God's will for them. "God's will" will glorify Him.

*Prayer is the way we fight battles by letting God fight for us.

*Form a "prayer circle" with other parents-- pray with intensity and tenacity, not just praying FOR but praying THROUGH.

*Pray the promises of God. Know your child (ask God!) and pray certain verses that pertain to the child and situation.

    * Pray offensively not defensively. Don't just pray against something; pray for something.

*Prayer mantras are important. It's a single God-inspired prayer repeated throughout a child's life.

*Have a spiritual vision for your child (ideas given)

*Don't just pray FOR your children; pray WITH your children. This will be speaking God's Word into their lives and teaching them how to prayer themselves.

This book is loaded with useful ideas how you can start or continue a prayer legacy in your family. When we pray like people prayed in the Bible, we can expect to see the kinds of results Bible people experienced! A must read for Christian parents and grandparents.

EVERY PARENT NEEDS TO READ THIS BOOK. IF I'D ONLY READ IT 40 YEARS AGO. BUT IT'S NEVER TOO LATE, I STILL HAVE CHILDREN AND GRAND CHILDREN.

Many times we pray general prayers about the things we want God to change; however, this book empowers the reader to be more focused around praying for their children. It also shows us how to impact our children and future generations by letting them hear our specific prayers about them. I have every reason to believe that as I put these prayer principles (praying the promises of God, God's will, etc) into action that I will see the life of my children change for the better.
