Praying the Scriptures for Your Children: Discover How to Pray God's Will for Their Lives - eBookJodie BerndtZondervan / 2013 / ePub$6.99
Mark Batterson shares a perfect blend of biblical yet practical advice that will revolutionize your prayer life by giving you a new vocabulary and a new methodology. Youll see how prayer is your secret weapon. Through stories of parents just like you, Batterson shares five prayer circles that will not only help you pray for your kids, but also pray through your kids.
Batterson teaches about how to create prayer lists unique to your family, claim God-inspired promises for your children, turn your family circle into a prayer circle, and discover your childs life themes. And he not only tells you how, he illustrates why.
As Batterson says, I realize that not everyone inherited a prayer legacy like I did, but you can leave a legacy for generations to come. Your prayers have the power to shape the destiny of your children and your childrens children. Its time to start circling.
Mark Batterson serves as the lead pastor of National Community Church in Washington, D.C. Recognized as one of Americas 25 most innovative churches, NCC is one church with seven locations. Marks blog (www.markbatterson.com) and webcast (www.theaterchurch.com) also reach a virtual congregation around the world. Worthless Garbage1 Stars Out Of 5Praying Circles around Your ChildrenDecember 12, 2016Worthless GarbageQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This is the most heretical book I have ever read. I actually used it as discussion points about heresy in the church with my family over dinner:
p.39 "Prayer is the way we write the future. It's the difference between letting things happen and making them happen." This is nothing short of witchcraft.
p.69 "The bible isn't meant to be read; it was meant to be prayed."
p.71 "The voice we should listen to most as we choose a vocation...is the voice of our own gladness." What happened to listening to and obeying the VOICE OF GOD, even if it costs you your life? Jeremiah 17:9 says "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?" We are NOT to follow our hearts, our own gladness, but we are to Love God with all our heart, soul and might and OBEY HIS VOICE. Jeremiah 7:23 says "But this is what I commanded them, saying, 'Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you will be My people; and you will walk in all the way which I command you, that it may be well with you."
p. 78 "The biblical practice of the laying on of hands is an endangered practice... we don't do it for a wide range of reasons...Whatever the reason, the net result can be a lack of faith, a lack of miracles, a lack of deliverance."
Says who? Are our prayers for loved ones hindered by our physical distance? Is God so limited by OUR physical separation, he cannot deliver someone who has been prayed for in faith alone, without physical contact?
p. 46 "I spent several agonizing hours interceding (for his daughter) as she made what I felt was a critical decision...[she] decided to quit (volleyball)...but I felt she should stick with it." Does GOD not have a say here? What if she should've quit? What if GOD didn't want her to play after all? Should our prayers not be about God and HIS will being done?
p.40 "I read once that at least 40 percent of our lives are based on personal prophecies. I'm not sure how you substantiate a statistic like that, but I find it very believable." Why? No footnote, no reference, no proof. If the author states it and finds it "believable" we should too?
I can't believe I was robbed of 1.49 plus shipping. I should be recompensed for my time spent reading this unbiblical, God-tempting, sheep fleecing witchcraft. Perhaps this is how he got his 8 million dollar pad in DC:
p.80 "...I shared the story of an eight million dollar piece of property on Capitol Hill that we own debt free. It took a miracle to get a contract on it..." Not so miraculous when you charge money for these ridiculously sensational books! But he goes on- "...and I believe the genesis of that miracle was a simple prayer prayed by one of my children." Some children pray for their cancer to go away, or for their legs to work, or for the parent who is dying. He's praying for an eight million dollar property.
For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,
declares the Lord.
Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
