"Praying the Attributes of God" is a 17-week devotional study designed to help you learn more about God and invigorate your faith. Each weekly study includes a key Scripture passage revealing a key attribute, background information and a brief Bible study; devotions to help you pray specific Scripture passages relating to the attribute you are studying; and a reflection showing how the attribute connects to God's promises in Scripture. There is also a section called "Continued Prayer and Praise" if you want to study additional passages over the weekend.
Ann Spangler's study of God's attributes leads you into a deeper relationship with God and will teach you more about God's character. You will come to understand His love, His patience, His omniscience and more. You will find that God is trustworthy, faithful and will never fail you even when you don't understand His ways.
If you are seeking more of God and need a place to begin, let Spangler guide you with her study as she shows you how to pray the attributes of God.

I have enjoyed reading Ann Spangler's devotional books. Praying the Attributes of God is another great one.
I have read her previous books, Praying the Names of God and Praying the Names of Jesus.
If you are looking to draw closer to God and to get to know Him better, this is a wonderful book to have in your possession.
There are 17 chapters, so you do this for 17 weeks - Monday through Friday. You'll be reading about how God cares for you, is better than you think, is bigger than you think, is not moody, is not weak, is close to everywhere, is never surprised, is never frustrated, always knows what to do, has no limits, is a lover, is always fair, leans toward compassion, never gives up, is better than anyone you know, is an artist, and is above it all. I think reading about God and His attributes will help you fall in love with Him all over again. What an awesome God we serve!!
Monday is when you read a key Scripture passage that shows you an attribute of God along with some background information, a short prayer and some questions. Tuesday-Thursday is short devotional passages that include Bible verses and ideas on what to reflect on; praise God; offer thanks;confess; ask God. Make sure to take some time to pray and praise the Lord.
Friday is a day to reflect on what you have studied during the week and how His specific attribute "connects to God's promises in Scripture." These Bible passages can be memorized or you can meditate on them. There are extra Bible verses to look up and meditate upon.
I really enjoy the layout of this devotional, the topics Ann Spangler touches upon. I usually come away from my time of Bible reading/prayer spiritually strengthened, encouraged, and I feel like I can face the day. I recommend that you get a copy for yourself.
Tyndale House Publishers has provided me with a complimentary copy of this book in return for my honest review.
I had only heard briefly of Ann Spangler, prior to picking up one of her newest books to review, entitled Praying The Attributes of God. I'm not sure what exactly I expected out of the book, but since I feel that the emphasis of scripture is on God, who He is, what He's done for us and how we're to respond to Him, I was intrigued enough by the title and decided to read it through. I was not disappointed with my choice and pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed the selection.
The book is devotional in style, with each section covering one attribute of God, and the five chapters included in each section are divided into a Monday through Friday format, only 3-4 pages apiece, with scripture, small thoughts to pray about and normally an illustration at the end to drive home the point. It is the simplicity of the style with a focus on the scripture that I found to be easy to grasp and meditate upon. It would be a good read for the busy person who still wants to focus on God and to communicate with Him regularly.
This is not the first of the author's books of this type and I certainly hope it's not her last. The subject of the book was extremely relevant to any believer or unbeliever in God. I did appreciate her use of personal stories and how she tied them into her topics. However, the stories may be the only area that I wasn't quite as gripped as the rest of the book. But, Mrs. Spangler still used them to tie into her main ideas very well.
I received this book for free as part of the book review program from the Tyndale House publishers blog network. It is a good book, with an important subject., I hope that you read it and find that it helped you to know God more and become more like him.
