Publisher's Description

Do your kids see the power and purpose in prayer or is it something they endure until the "Amen"? What is this "worship stuff" Christians do? Is it just a bunch of people wearing choir robes? Playing guitars? Singing?

The Uncommon junior high hroup study Prayer and Worship helps you answer teens' (possibly never-voiced!) questions in ways that make sense for their junior high lives: Help them understand how God answers prayer, what to do when He seems silent, why we keep on praying, what is worship? how does it all work?

Through Scripture study, fun activities, stories, and discussion, students will understand the "how and why" of prayer and worship in ways that will help them make these two parts of loving God an integral part of their spiritual lives.

How to Use the UNCOMMON Group Bible Studies

Each Uncommon group Bible study contains 12 sessions, which are divided into 3 stand-alone units of 4 sessions each. This is your leader's guidebook for teaching your group. Electronic files (in PDF format) of each session's student handbooks are available for download on the publisher's website ( The handouts include the "message," "dig," "apply," "reflect" and "meditations" sections of each study and have been formatted for easy printing. You may print as many copies as you need for your group.

Each session opens with a devotional meditation written for you, the youth leader. As hectic and trying as youth work is much of the time, it's important never to neglect your interior life. Use the devotions to refocus your heart and prepare yourself to share with kids the message that has already taken root in you.
