I have not read Foster before. Although I have heard of him and heard his other books were great. I am not finished with the book but I find it dry. we are reading it for a group Bible Study and I am not alone. The topics and ideas make for great discussion points. This was also my first ebook. I will not buy amother. It is very hard to share in a grouo. they all refer to "page numbers" and I have none. Church does nit have wifi so the book loads but no search features absilable withiut wifi and moving chapter to chapter takes minutes to load, the group has moved on before I can find a page. Very hard to reach table of contents and move around. does have "hilite" which transfers between phone and ipad. that has been nice. I am grateful for the topics and ideas.

This book offers some good information. It was a little confusion using catholic terminology/history because I'm unfamiliar with that denomination. One of the books you want to keep reading despite confusion because you are certain it will offer more/some beneficial information at end, or leading up to it. Probably will use it as a reference book if needed.

This is an excellent review on the various types of prayer and their applications in our life. Prayer is such a powerful force in our spiritual lives as we seek to enhance our relationships with the triune God, family, friends and worldly neighbors. Describing prayers that lead us inward, upward and outward, the author has done an courageous job of warming our hearts through our search for peace.

I haven't finished the book but so far - awesome! This is one of those books to keep in your library for future reference. I had originally borrowed it from a friend but I kept wanting to write little notes in the margins so I had to get it for myself. It is loaded with thought provoking truths and is easy to read and understand. I hightly recommend this book to anyone searching for a good book on prayer. It will not disappoint.
