Becoming more like Jesus, what a thought! The topic drew me in because who doesn't want to become more like Jesus? Isn't that the goal of everyone in their Christian walk? This book offers great inspiration and a reminder to slow down and spend time with the master of the universe.

If you only learn one way to be more like Jesus, this book is worth it. Just imagine how your life could be different by implementing one small change or a new focus.

The author lays out a plan with useful guidelines and tools to implement in your life. I was challenged and look forward to applying it to my life. I found this book to be appropriate for all readers wherever they are in their Christian walk.

I highly recommend this book and I have already purchased one for a gift. May you also grow closer to Christ.

John Mark Comer does it yet again! He often humbly admits that he simply summarizes the thoughts of many *great* theologians in a way that is easy to digest for the average reader, but regardless, it is hard to read one of his books and not be challenged and encouraged in your faith, and this book is no exception. Practicing the Way will challenge your perception of what it truly means to be a disciple of Jesus and encourage you into a much richer relationship with Christ. Instead of spouting the *ABC Christianity* often preached from the pulpit in order to not scare people away from the difficulties of true discipleship, this book calls believers into a life of faith that is by no means passive or easy. The crux of the book is this: everyone is being discipled or shaped by something, and if you are not intentional or aware of what you are being shaped by, then it is not Jesus. Being discipled by Jesus requires consistent and intentional practice. You are not expected to be perfect, but you are expected to try because God will not force spiritual formation on you. This is the antithesis of the U.S. modern school of thought that you can create your own destiny and control your own life. The good news is that while truly following the way of Jesus is not always easy, it is doing less instead of doing more, and it brings peace, love, freedom, and the richest relationship with Christ. For new and old Christians alike, this book will not disappoint!
