Product Description

In the ever increasingly secular and politically correct society, the person of Jesus remains a controversial figure. He's admired and ridiculed, revered and rejected, dismissed and embraced. Simply, much of what Jesus taught and stood for clearly clashes with politically correct thinking, which often asks followers of Christ to commit intellectual suicide by pretending that what they believe is not real or true. And at times, the church itself has its own version of politically correct thinking which needs to be addressed as well. In this book, author Joe Battaglia will look at the issues and ideology in the current cultural climate that clashes with the teachings of Jesus. He will awaken people from their spiritual slumber to question the intellectual and spiritual inconsistency of political correctness both inside and outside the church.

Author Bio

Joe Battaglia is the founder and president of Renaissance Communications, a media company specializing in the production and syndication of radio programming, media consulting, and creative promotions. Joe has been involved in the promotion of successful hit movies to the faith-based marketplace, such as The Passion, The Lion, The Witch & The Wardrobe, The Polar Express, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Courageous, Soul Surfer, Son of God, God’s Not Dead, and Heaven Is For Real. Highly active in the Christian music industry, Battaglia served on the board of Gospel Music Association (GMA) for 19 years, was chairman of the National Christian Radio Association (NCRS) for 14 years, and currently sits on the boards of the Walter Hoving Home in Garrison, NY and the WAY-FM Radio Network. He still lives in New Jersey, and can be found at times hanging around street corners with old friends singing doo-wop songs, because that’s where Jesus might be if He were around today.

Editorial Reviews

In an era when the Church seems to either be so politically correct that its message is ineffective, or so abrasive that it offends without enlightening anyone, my friend Joe Battaglia calls us to see that Jesus came to redeem the culture and not to condemn it. Jesus’ Church is designed to bring real hope and joy to a superficial culture by living out the truth in a way that meets people at their point of deepest need. Joe shows us that being counter-cultural does not mean being against people, but for peace and love. If you’re tired of the culture wars, this book is a must-read for you.

Larry W. Poland, Ph.D. - Chairman, Mastermedia International

In The Politically Incorrect Jesus, my friend Joe Battaglia presents an intelligent and common sense approach to how a person of faith can stand up to the current issues in culture that would divide us without pointing fingers or engaging in the culture war. He has interesting perspectives that we would all do well to consider on how to be followers of Jesus to a world that wants to see the real thing.

Michael W. Smith - Singer and Songwriter

Joe Battaglia says what needs to be said about the dangers and impact of our politically correct world. It’s a needed wake up call to our culture! This is a MUST READ for anyone wanting to understand our times.

Alex Kendrick - Filmmaker, Facing the Giants, Fireproof, Courageous
