Publisher's Description

Jayne Murphy has always put family first. That’s why she abandoned her dream of joining the police force to run her ailing mother’s dance studio.

When one of the studio’s most talented instructors dies in a car crash, Jayne isn’t convinced it was just an accident. Relentlessly pursuing her hunch, she teams up with Officer Danny Nolan, the best friend and partner of her brother Patrick, who died in the line of duty. Haunted by Patrick’s death, Danny has begun to question whether he should still be a cop at all.

As Jayne digs deeper, suspects emerge, including the victim’s clingy ex-boyfriend and a jealous foe from the cutthroat dance world. Her evolving insights into the case rekindle Jayne’s passion for police work. Danny, too, feels a renewed sense of purpose…and a definite attraction to his unofficial partner, which seems to be mutual. Now, if Jayne can only keep herself out of harm’s way, she and Danny both might get a second chance—with their careers and each other.

This is a 'new to me' author. Alison Stone does a good job in developing her characters and describing her surroundings. I enjoyed the mystery and romance woven in this novel. This is not an on the edge of your seat suspense yet it is full of mystery and some suspense.

Jayne Murphy is a loving daughter who has put her dreams on the back burner to care for her mother, who has Alzheimer's. When a dear friend dies, she doesn't feel like it is an accident. Will she be able to find what actually happened or is she putting her life and those she loves in danger?

Officer Danny Nolan is a by the book kind of guy. With a past that connects himself to the Murphy family will he be able to forgive himself and be the help Jayne needs or was the accident, just that?

This novel is full of mystery, dance, family, forgiveness and much more. I look forward to reading more from this author. You may or may not solve the mystery before it is revealed and you may guess more than one ending. It will keep you reading to the very end.

I was given a copy of this novel from the suspense zone for my honest opinion.

This books merges the word of ballet with a murder mystery and is one that I really enjoyed. It is a combination of wonderful characters, faith, romance and some humor that pulled me in from the first pages and kept me reading to see what was going to happen next. The author also through one of her characters gives a touching look into Alzheimers and the effect it has not only on the person dealing with it but the family as well. I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review, and it is another one from this author that I certainly recommend.

Jayne's dreams are put on hold so that she can take care of her mom as she has become ill. But she still dreams of one day becoming the best cop she can ever be. When her best friend and neighbor dies she sets off to prove it was not an accident, but will she be able to prove it before before its to late or will someone else get hurt in the mix? Danny has faced the loss of his best friend and wants nothing more to just be accepted as the amazing cop he has set out to be and not someone who caused his best friends death. When he comes face to face with the family that he considered his second family he wonders if forgiveness is ok. Now he has bigger things looking into the death of someone even though every one swears its just an accident. Will he be able to get to the bottom of this or will he put his job on the line?

I really enjoyed this book, I wasn't sure what to expect as I totally went off the cover only. Alison is a new author find for me, and I was not disappointed at some points I thought the book was predictable and then something would happen and then everything would change my way of thinking. Literally this book had me guessing all the way to the end. I did however not like Jayne's brothers they totally seems ugh(can't say much more without disclosing more then you might want to know). I loved that this is a clean read and that there is no strong language in the book. This book reminds me everything is not as they seem. if your looking for a book you can't put down that draws you in grab this one and have fun, you won't be disappointed.

This book is humorous yet intriguing and it keeps you totally engaged from page one til the very last page. This author knows how to keep you enamored. This is about Jayne who is from a family of cops, and who wants to become a cop herself. Jayne is not able to become onw so she then becomes a dancer instead, so your go on the journey with her of disappoint and acceptance of that fact. It tugs at your heartstrings when they approach the topic of Alzheimer's and faith and family. The author does a great job weaving that story in with the rest of the story. The author keeps you engaged and brings you a powerful story but with a little humor. This is so worth your time to get this book.. I received the book for an honest review
