Author/Artist Review

Author: LeRoy Ives AKA King Ives
Located in: Kingstree, S.C.
Submitted: November 10, 2018

Tell us a little about yourself.  I was born and raised in Greeley Ville, S.C. graduated from Greeley Ville High School worked in security for years worked with NASA in security. My parents were Merritt Ives and Callie M. Arid Ives my father was a photographer and farmer my mother was a house wife.

What was your motivation behind this project?  I have two books in the Williamsburg County Library Kingstree, S.C. and the DOCTORS BRUCE and LEE FOUNDATION LIBRARY Florence, S.C. titled POETRY MALACHI-POEMS of LIFE and A POET'S DAWNING A CHAPEL BEYOND SUNSET and I have one book in the CLARENDON COUNTY LIBRARY Manning, S.C. title of book is POETRY MALACHI-POEMS of LIFE when I started writing I wanted to leave something that would last that who so ever read my books would gain or grow in wisdom, knowledge, spiritually that they would be a blessing to others in life that they can leave a legacy to their children and grand children and so on I wanted my work to be a blessing to all. I was well known as a local poet but as the old saying goes finish the task which I had not done being I was a poet it was about to drive me crazy when I put out POEMS of HOPE-Inspiration-Animate-Inspire I felt relieved of all my stress I was world wide I finished the task always finish what you start human nature plays an important part in what you are and who you are in society.

What do you hope folks will gain from this project?  I hope they will stop and take time to smell the roses for life is short paired to eternity enjoy all the beauty life has to offer it's God's gift in nature it's surroundings a canvas painted portrait of art, beauty beholding to the eye it's peace, love, contentment, joy, happiness only the almighty God can bring.

How were you personally impacted by working on this project?  It started me off with simplicity then it went into a deeper mind thought it made me to go deep into my inner-soul emotionally, spiritually to where I could feel of heart what I was writing it gave me joy, peace, fulfillment I wanted my readers to dig down deep into their thoughts where their mind could be a tool of wisdom, knowledge, understanding that through God all things are possible it's not where you come from or where you been it's where you are going of God you can be any thing you want to be.

Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists?  Samuel Clemons aka Mark Twain, Joel Osteen, Robert Frost, Maya Angelou.

Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know:  I believe every one has a gift sometime we have to dig deep down within self to search our inner being-soul to find it take time to ask God what would he have you to do before your eyes is closed I had people to tell me you can't be that you got to go to college don't listen to them again with God all things are possible he's the Alpha Omega the beginning and the end.
