I think each one of these little books is great for the audience they are geared towards. Reading them is easy and quick. They can add encouragement from the word of God to carry in your heart throughout the day. These are great daily devotionals that can passed on to a friend when finished. If you want some inspiration that is Biblically based I would recommend these great little books. I received a free copy of this book series from Litfuse Publicity in exchange for my honest review.

Max Lucado & company put together a series of Pocket Prayers, published by Thomas Nelson, designed specifically for 6 types of roles. A Pocket Prayer for moms, dads, graduates, the military life, teachers and friends. With 40 prayers in each book, each with a corresponding Bible verse, we are brought back to focus on the One that can give us hope, direction and ultimately peace in our daily lives. As mentioned, each is tailored to a specific role, and though I don't fit into some of these roles, reading through them gives me a glimpse of what burdens this person may have. Furthermore, this insight also softens my heart as compassion and understanding grows. Since I am reviewing the series as a whole, I appreciate each of these pocket sized Pocket Prayers, because I understand that they each serve a purpose for their specific target audience. With that said, these will make great gifts. Give it as a set, for the recipient to share, or gift the specific one you're thinking of. I can also see how perfect it would be included in a gift basket.

Mother's Day and Father's Day are both occasions that are coming up in the next two months; Max has a book perfect for new mom and dad or ones whom may need a little bit of encouragement no matter what stage of parenting they are in. I am saving these two editions for a set of parents-to-be whom are expecting their first little bundle of joy. Also, during the next two months there are going to be many young people graduating either from college or high school and facing a whole new set of choices to be made and a new direction in life. This can be a time of uncertainty and also excitement. Max's Pocket Prayers for graduates is the perfect little gift for each and every graduate. Also, along with graduation, comes the end of a school year. Teachers put in so much effort and time every day of the school year to teach and guide children. I appreciate all of the teachers involved in my daughter's life and am amazed by the progress she makes and how much she has learned and grown this school year. I am excited to be able to share Pocket Prayers for teachers with a teacher as the end of the school year is quickly approaching. Friends are there for us in bad times and good and sometimes we may take our friends for granted; Max's Pocket Prayers for Friends, is a sweet little gift to celebrate friendships any day of the year. Last, but not least, Max's Pocket Prayers for Military Life is a wonderful little collection of inspiration and hope for an individual in the military, but also the families of those whom are serving. Each of these books is filled with verses, readings and inspiration and hope for the readers and are great keepsake books to pick up and read through in moments of needing encouragement.

We lean on them for everything from hurt feelings to missing homework to broken bones. No one knows how quickly the chaos of daily life can become overwhelming more than moms.
So, where can moms turn for peace and rest in the midst of mayhem?
These forty simple prayers guide moms to the Source of all hope and strength bringing peace and rest no matter the situation.
Max Lucado tells us, Prayer is not a privilege of the pious, not the art of a chosen few. Prayer is simply a heartfelt conversation between God and his child. My friend, he wants to talk with you. Even now, as you read these words, he taps at the door. Open it. Welcome him in. Let the conversation begin. Pocket Prayers For Moms gives us a devotional, by day, for forty days that are divided into meaningful categories. Lets face it our moms face a lot of challenges and stress. This book was written especially for moms to focus on the issues that concern them. Each day has a Bible verse and a short prayer to re-focus their attention on God to put the issues that come up in His hands and draw closer to Him. This is one book you will be returning to over and over again. It is also a great gift to give to friends and family to help them with their days. I recommend this book highly.
