It features a photo of New York Times Bestselling author and author of this book, Jordan Rubin leaning on a shovel in front of crates of freshly grown vegetables. This book is classified as a "Naturopathy, Healing, Alternative Therapies" book and states on the back cover "The health and well-being of you, your family, and our planet rest on your shoulders and the daily decisions you make." This book holds nothing back.
Author Rubin begins his book with his own story of health struggles. When he was nineteen Rubin was diagnosed with Crones disease. His father contacted Bud Keith, a nutritionist. Keith showed them to a plan of Neuropathic healing, using Biblical principles. After being on the program for six weeks Rubin's body became totally regenerated. This changed his life, and he began studying the effects we have on the environment, alternative health therapies, sustainable agriculture, food production, economic prosperity, and abundance.
I was intrigued throughout the book with all of the information. The author has a real passion for God, helping people get healthy, and taking care of this Earth we were entrusted to do just that. He provides so much various information in his thought provoking, inspiring book. The chapter on the eight common allergens to avoid when eating was very eye opening. As were the ones on Organic food, nutritional values, and ways to stop top soil erosion. There is just so much so much to learn here.
The author has a nice writing style. His ideas are well thought and organized. The book flowed well and did not seem to jump around. This will be a book that I will refer to in the future. It is one to discuss in a study group. This is a book that stays with you after you have read it.
I would recommend this book to anyone interested in Naturopathy, healing themselves and the Earth, or even having a small farm or sustainable garden. Anyone interested in health or having a healthy Earth would appreciate this book. I rated it a 5 out of 5 stars. I received a copy of this book from The Book Club Network for my honest review.

The Revolution of Regeneration in Body, Mind, and Planet
In an effort to be ever more productive in our efforts to feed the world we have allowed technological and biological advances to damage not only the world we once knew but also sacrificed our own health and well-being along the way.
Production and profit at any cost has become the norm. Mega farms have swallowed up many smaller family farms. And in the process we have seen a decline in the nutritional quality of the food that is produced for consumption.
Each person has a choice to be part of the solution or add to the problem. As the author points out "you are what they eat," and this refers to both plant and animal based foods. The advances in farming has resulted in the destruction of much of the nutrient rich topsoil. With this poor quality soil the plants and grasses that feed not only humanity but the animals that exist side-by-side with us have become deprived.
The author Jordan Rubin takes us on his journey of recapturing his health and wellness through a drastic change in how he was living and what he has learned along the way. This is a book that after reading you'll want to share with family and friends.
Living in a farming community that has been around for generations as well as a vegetarian I found this book to be both enlightening and terrifying in seeing the damage we have wrought upon the world we have been commanded to care for.
I was provided a copy of this book by the publisher through TBCN/BookFun in exchange for my honest review.

The book is a serious wake-up call to the extent of degeneration of the earths natural resources and the future of our ecosystem. It is made up of page after page of stimulating new ideas for recycling, composting, and reversing the rate of degeneration of our topsoil.
Diagnosed with Crones disease at the age of 19, Jordin became devastated. In a desperate attempt to avoid a radical experimental surgery, Rubins father contacted nutritionist Bud Keith and wan was introduced to a proven plan of Neuropathic healing, using Biblical principles. After following the program for six weeks Jordins body was totally regenerated. This began a life change for Jordin that led to a 20 year study in the areas of alternative health therapies, sustainable agriculture, food production, economic prosperity, and abundance. His recovery set in motion a passion to transform the health of our nation, one life at a time.
Jordin warns of the crisis created by our countrys loss of top soil, how nutrients create health, and an effective plan for growing your own food. He talks about regenerative farming, steps to creating real health, and benefits of eating organic, going gluten free, and saying no to GMO. He warns of eight common allergens to avoid, and introduces the artisanal eater.
Planet Heal Thyself The Revolution in Body, Mind, and Planet will be fascinating reading to everyone who recognizes the key to health depends on decisions we make in health and nutrition for ourselves, our families, and our nation.

He shares his own story of being diagnosed with severe Crohn's disease. When he was facing a radical surgery, he was introduced to a nutritionist through his father and he turned to diet and recovered. He tells his story in this book and gives us his ideas on how he thinks there can be a "Revolution of Regeneration in body, mind and planet" I found many of his suggestions helpful and yes, some enlightening information. I wanted to read this book because some of my family members suffer with Crohn's disease. I was gifted this book by the Book Club Network for my honest opinion and review.

He shares his own story of being diagnosed with severe Crohn's disease. Facing a radical surgery, he turned to diet and recovered. That inspired the passion he shares in this book.
He explains why the planet needs to be healed and what he is doing on his organic farm in Missouri. He believes our bodies mirror the degeneration happening all over the planet. He wants to see that degeneration reversed, both in our bodies and on the planet.
Rubin promotes a healthy eating plan. He writes about sprouts, organic foods, composting, food allergies, and more. He warns about the impact of the use of fertilizers and pesticides, GMO foods, and gluten. He includes good information on the nutritional value of foods and the role of supplements.
I like his emphasis on permaculture, creating sustainability in this age of consumerism. He shares what is being done on his farm to prevent water run off and soil erosion. He also encourages purchasing foods in packaging that reduces the environmental impact on our planet and contributes to soil building.
That's just a part of all that Rubin has included in this book. His is a refreshing message in this era of fast foods and packaged foods. He really made me think about the foods I eat, their source, their packaging, and their effect on my body. I learned a great deal from this book, including the difference between 100% Organic and Organic. That was a bit surprising.
I recommend this book to those interested in a healthier life and a healthier planet.
