They say they have different beliefs, but they are never mentioned as to what they are. Except he saved his kiss. His beliefs are all given as his mother's advise and not of God.
At the end he gives her his saved kiss after he says that he wants to be with her and she says "but we have different beliefs" he says, "that's ok, we have love" So it ends with not mattering that you are unevenly yoked. Very sad for a Christian movie.
