WyoBibleReaderWyomingAge: Over 65Gender: Male5 Stars Out Of 5Great Short History of English BiblesMarch 3, 2016WyoBibleReaderWyomingAge: Over 65Gender: MaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Even though I have read more "meaty" background info on the English Bible translations I still enjoyed this small, but informative book on early English Bible translations. It gives nice background info on the Geneva, Bishop's, Coverdale, Matthew's, Tyndale and King James 1611 (1613, 16-etc revisions) Bibles. It also gives a very small summary on manuscripts. For anyone wanting a general knowledge this is a nice start. For anyone wanting more knowledge you will want something with much more "meat" than this book. I highly recommend it for anyone wanting a basic understanding of early English Bible translations. It just builds your faith in God's unchangable word and the respect for those early translators.
Jean-marie Quisenberry5 Stars Out Of 5May 27, 2009Jean-marie QuisenberryI purchased this pictorial history booklet to go along with the Geneva Bible that I ordered. This litte booklet is a great resource to use along with this and any other Bible version you may have as you set out to learn more about our English translation of the Bible.
John5 Stars Out Of 5December 29, 2003JohnI really enjoyed this small, but informative book on early english bible translations. It gives a nice "round" background on the Geneva, Bishop's, Coverdale, Matthew's, Tyndale and King James 1611 (1613, 16-etc revisions) Bibles. It also gives a very small summary on manuscripts. For anyone wanting a general knowledge this is a nice start. For anyone wanting more knowledge you will want something with much more "meat" than this book. I do highly recommend it though for anyone wanting a basic understanding of early english bible translations.
