In PERPLEXING PROVERBS FOR WOMEN, author Susanne Scheppmann applies the wisdom of the Book of Proverbs to the primary concerns women face and direct them to God's answers for daily decisions.
Today's women struggle with life-altering decisions.
Many women feel lost in the craziness of this world and search for direction. Thorny issues include managing finances, cultivating friendships, finding contentment, being a good mother, controlling emotions, and maintaining sex appeal. Sadly, many woman fail to consult the resource of true wisdom sitting on their own book-shelves or nightstands.
The Bible, specifically the Book of Proverbs, holds the answers to the questions of life. Women need to recognize this resource and learn how to apply the lessons it teaches.
Perplexing Proverbs for Women is a ten-week study that applies the wisdom of the Proverbs to ten primary concerns (hearts-prints) in a woman's life. Ideal for small-group or individual study, it uses both Old and New testament passages to cement the concepts of the Proverbs and to help women gain wisdom in day-to-day living.
Susanne Scheppmann is a popular coast-to-coast conference and retreat speaker. An accomplished author of several magazine articles, Susanne has also contributed to many book compilations. Susanne served as a women's ministries director and Bible study teacher for several years and currently serves Proverbs 31 Ministries, designed to equip women to bring God's peace, perspective, and purpose into their busy lives through books, devotionals, radio programs, and the P31 magazine.
Susanne and her husband have three adult children and reside in Nevada where she enjoys reading, cooking, fishing, and traveling.

I did it alone after I saw my mother in law using it recently. I used it on my own because I live in a small town and it's hard to find a group to study with. It was easy to read and was broken up into manageable pieces. I would recommend this to any woman any age.

This book really gets them into the Word, doing daily homework, reflection and study. The homework reads and is done much like Beth Moore studies. The balance of knowledge and application are excellent. My only concern is that I think she spent too much time developing her own themes elsewhere in the Bible, rather than in the book of Proverbs. I would consider her studies again though.
CJL3 Stars Out Of 5October 21, 2009CJLThis is a nice Bible study, but not as in-depth as I was looking for. It did not really enlighten me with new concepts. Would be excellent for someone who has not really studied Proverbs before.
Frances Crawford5 Stars Out Of 5March 8, 2009Frances CrawfordI teach a women's Sunday School class, and the book is a fantastic study on the book of Proverbs. It does take time to do the Bible reading but what insights are gained by the study. Thank you, Susanne Scheppmann, for writing this book to inspire women today.
