Elizabeth Goddards Hidden Bay Series is truly impressive, and her latest installment, PERILOUS TIDES, exemplifies a romance driven by suspense-my favorite genre! Goddard has crafted a phenomenal, fast-paced storyline that captivates readers from the very first page and keeps them breathless until the end. One of my favorite quotes from this book is, You wont see danger coming . . . until its too late. Goddard uses this quote to build tension throughout the narrative.

The characters in PERILOUS TIDES are intriguing and multi-dimensional, with danger following them wherever they go. Goddards plot is intense, and her writing immerses readers in the action, making them feel like active participants rather than passive observers. Once again, she weaves a simmering romance into the story, as the two main characters attempt to postpone their Define the Relationship (DTR) conversation until the danger has passed.

I couldn't get enough of the first book in this series and this next one pulls you straight into a fast paced adventure with a lot of characters from the previous book. Jo gets a cryptic message from her Pop and she tries to track him down. When she isn't able to locate him, she heads back to the lodge. Only thing is she sees a murder and now she is afraid that her cover has been blown, after hiding for three years. "Leaving Hidden Bay,even for one day, had put her back in danger." Cole Mercer shows back up into town looking into her Mother's murder. Will Cole be able to protect Jo from the murderer, be able to solve her Mother's case and help find her Pop? Settle into a comfortable chair and get ready to go on a wild ride with Jo and Cole while imagining you are right there with them. I absolutely loved all the twists and turns in this wonderful romantic suspense. I love Cole and Jo and how they help to keep each other safe. I love all the fantastic action and the suspense. I love the descriptions of the landscape and the storms. I could not put the book down. I enjoyed learning all of the secrets each character was hiding. I received a copy of the book and gave an honest opinion.

Wow! This fast-paced story was so full of twists & turns. Just when I thought I had things figured out, there was another layer. The action was nonstop with a determined killer out to get Jo. But, the mystery is so much bigger than Jo & enjoyed how it involved her father*s career.

Loved the chemistry between Cole & Jo. Jo*s immediately skeptical of Cole since he left without a good explanation & is reluctant to trust him again with her heart. Cole had his reasons for leaving & wants to win her back. It*s a beautiful second chance romance filled with unraveled secrets & all the longing. I also appreciated the faith thread subtly woven throughout.

Highly recommend to romantic suspense fans! Though it*s the 2nd book in the series, it can be read as a standalone. I received an advanced copy from the publisher with no expectation of a review. All opinions are my own & voluntarily provided.
