KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Perfect read for cozy mystery fansJuly 4, 2015KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 0Value: 0Meets Expectations: 0This is the second book in the Shipshewana Mystery series. It reads well as a standalone though there's a bit of a romance spoiler. Once again Chapman has woven together an incredible blend of mystery and the intricacies of plain living. Vivid descriptions bring this small town community to life, complete with laughter and strife and the deep, abiding faith of a simple people. Honestly, I was laughing over the antics of Deborah's children one moment and then howling in frustration over Reuben's stubbornness the next. And the mystery is just as complicated as the myriad of characters that become involved in solving it. Definitely the perfect read for cozy mystery fans.
alwaysreadingAge: 55-65Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Delightful!June 28, 2014alwaysreadingAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5A Perfect Square is a delightful second book in the Shipshewana series. We get to enjoy Callie, Deborah, Melinda and Esther's growing friendship as yet another dead body shows up in the town of Shipshewana. When Deborah, Melinda and Esther agree that the Amish boy that the police have in custody could not have committed this horrible act, the four work together to solve the mystery.
Although I loved the entire book, one of the best parts is that we begin to see Callie, who is the owner of Daisy's quilt shop, opening up to a possible new romance. I like the fact the author has not one or two guys but three guys desiring Callie's attention and affection. I'm dying to see who it will be.
This was one of those books that once you pick up it is extremely hard to put down.
MagisterMichiganAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Love and Death in ShipshewanaMay 27, 2014MagisterMichiganAge: 55-65Gender: female"A Perfect Square" is a perfect delight - that uniquely different twist that Vannetta Chapman brings to the genre of Amish fiction. This sequel to "Falling to Pieces" is another mystery set in Shipshewana, Indiana, and once again we find Callie and her Amish friends Deborah, Esther and Melinda putting their heads and hearts together to solve a curious death. Three romances wind through this "whodunit": the growing attraction between Callie and Sheriff Shane Black, the wedding plans for Tobias and widow Esther, and the sadly short-lived marriage of young Katie and Samuel. Chapman's use of flashbacks give us insight into the hearts of this young Amish couple, and also paints an interesting contrast to the heart of the man accused of Katie's death. I won't spoil your pleasure in reading this book by giving away any more details, but I will promise this page-turner is worth putting off your chores for. Pull up a chair and get back to Shipshewana!

By: Vannetta Chapman
This is the second book, A Perfect Square, in this series and it was really good. Vannetta Chapman has did it again. She has weaved a story of mystery and love that when you start reading you do not want to put it down. If you read book one Falling To Pieces you will again meet up with the same characters. The story starts off really fast and it grabs you till the end. In Shipshewana , Indiana a dead girl was found floating in a local pond. Reuben Fisher is accused and taken into custody for the girls death. Reuben and Tobias are cousins and living on the property where the girl was found. No one believes that Reuben could do such a thing, but he remains silence and will not say anything. Tobias and Deborah is to get married. What will happen to them now, it is only two weeks till their wedding. We have Callie the non Amish and her dog Max, who owns Daisy's Quilt Shop and she is friends with Deborah, Esther, and Melinda who are Amish. Now if you have read book one how Callie and Deborah takes things into their hands and try to solve the mystery. They are determined to find out about the dead girl found floating in the pond. Deborah does not believe Reuben could have did anything to the girl and she is going to find out what happened to her. We have two mysteries in our story to solve. Iva Bontrager hunts and finds Callie. He wants her to find his long lost daughter that has been missing since 1965 when Palm Sunday tornadoes went through. Now no one remembers him having a daughter . Did he have a daughter or is it in his mind? If he had a daughter would his son not remember her? I was not disappointed in A Perfect Square and I an looking forward to reading book three Material Witness. I have it and will start it next.
I was given a copy of this book for my honest review and I have given it .
DonnasBookshelfTennesseeAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Easily as entertaining as the first!March 28, 2014DonnasBookshelfTennesseeAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5I finished the first book, Falling to Pieces, quickly and I couldn't wait to begin the sequel, A Perfect Square.
I have learned how impulsive Callie is and how she doesn't exactly "tread softly"_ she usually stumbles into messes easily!
This second book is easily as entertaining and fun as the first one was. Don't miss out on this series.
Vannetta Chapman has a special way of drawing you in and making it difficult, if not impossible, to put down the book until you read the last page! I lost a lot of sleep, but it was definitely worth every minute!
Now on to the third book of the series_ Material Witness_
