I disagree with the other reviews; I thought the movie was horrible! It is too long, but that's not the worst of it. There is never any 'resolution' of the divorce...no meeting of he and his wife to support the kids. And, he seeks (though he does not take) revenge on his ex and tells here something akin to ' this will make you lose you job, your house, your children like I did and know how it feels'. I could not believe it! Also, we never see if the ex-wife decides to do the right thing. And the two daughters seem to be not affected by the divorce and really like the new girlfriend immediately. So, I will not put it out in our church library.
For many people, these are just stories. But for the people who live this, it is real. I saw this in the movie theater and actually watched a man feel the hurt so deeply that he stood up and screamed at the screen. It scared us at first but then I realized how some things are really relatable to some people. Having faith in God is easy for some to say but living it when life doesn't seem worth living is a different deal; but there is always hope in Jesus Christ. Watch this movie and you will laugh, cry, get angry and feel compassion.
I watched this movie with my children and we all loved it. It is a good representation of the "Dad" side of a divorce. The movie also touches several different spritual issues that arise during the process of a couple ripping the fabric of marriage apart. Its a story of hope in Christ no matter how we may feel and that no matter the situation, Christ can always lead you out.
