by Rickie G. Rush

Rickie Rush has written a book that can open your life into a new level of success in your battle against satan. Rushs explanation of how to handle the difficult times in our lives are simple, biblically-inspired, and practical.
He explains how satan weasels his way into our lives. How he implants himself deeper into our lives after gaining access. How we an kick him out. And finally how we can keep him out. Each chapter ends with points to remember, Scripture to help re-enforce to main point of the chapter, questions to help the reader make the lesson personal, thoughts from some of Rickies sermons, a prayer, and a video link. All of these make it easy to get the most out of each chapter.
I learned a great deal from this book. It strengthened me to have a more successful outcome in my battle with the devil. It encouraged me by letting me know that my battles were not unique, that others had fought them before and won.
I would encourage you to read this book; better yet buy a copy of your own so that you can mark the points that really speak to you. This is one of those books you will want to read over and over again and refer to when satan wants to make you forget who you are and the authority you have over him.

SusanPMichiganAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Wonderful eye-opening bookJuly 1, 2015SusanPMichiganAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5What if the very circumstances that threaten to destroy us are the very things that launch us into our God-ordained moments of destiny? What a moving thought that is. This book will change your thinking on how you see your struggles and difficult times. We all have them and we all feel the weight of the world on our shoulders at times. What eye opening revelations! God has us in His hands and the author takes you through chapters of this realization and personal checks to keep you moving on the path of healing and understanding.
A wonderful chapter in here for me was the Its Time for a Reality Check where he brings up subjects and happenings that will convict you and show you what you are dealing with. He also lists helpful suggestions to start fixing problems such as getting a good nights sleep an issue that can cause deeper problems. Its a very nice, easy read not over your head or too deep to lose your interest. I loved how it kept my attention and kept me reading for more.
After each chapter is the ever helpful application exercise where you get to keep track of your thoughts and answer questions. Also scripture verses, notes, video links, biblical examples and prayers help you even more. One of the last chapters gives you the gift of coming back swinging and conquering the enemy, and growing through every difficulty. This is a gem of a book that I highly recommend to everyone! Grab it and search it.

ShaiNorfolk, NEAge: 35-44Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5practical steps to healingDecember 18, 2014ShaiNorfolk, NEAge: 35-44Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 4The Pendulum by Rickie G. Rush is like a sermon series in writing. Each chapter offers a mini sermon and finishes with a prayer, application questions and memory scriptures as well as a link for a video that accompanies the chapter. In his vulnerability, Rickie Rush tells the story of his mothers death and how that impacted his beliefs about God. I loved the way he recognizes that he has the option to think a certain way. And that by recognizing the negative thoughts and taking action over them, he can change the way he thinks and feels. He asks the reader to identify the true enemy and that by doing so, the reader can study the enemy to fight back better. Rickie Rush also lets the reader know that this book is a not for someone who suffers clinical depression but rather is meant for someone who may be caught up in a pattern of depression. Although I did not connect with the book, I still felt it was a good read and offered practical measures to help someone who is truly interested in overcoming depression.

vjonesSt Paul, MNAge: 45-54Gender: female4 Stars Out Of 5Powerful resource for those inevitable difficult times.November 12, 2014vjonesSt Paul, MNAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 4Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5The Pendulum is not a thick book. However, the amount of information and resources that Pastor Rickie D Rush poured into those few pages is incredible. He shares a part of his testimony that sets the stage for us to recognize right away that this is a man who has credibility to teach how to swing through difficult times. The Pendulum is a powerhouse of information.
The author covers some very tough topics including why do Christians go through tough times, what should our response be, and why it is important not to be discouraged or feel guilty when difficult times happen. Each topic is addressed with compassion and encouragement not to give up.
My favorite part of the book is how each chapter is concluded. Pastor Rush ended each chapter with what I really want you to remember, prayer, scripture meditation, a video link, and special quotes. That allowed me the opportunity to read the book without feeling I had to take notes to remember everything. It was incredibly helpful in trying to absorb all the information provided. No one is immune from tough times. Therefore, I think this book would be helpful to anyone and especially is a great resource to have on hand for when those difficult times do strike.
