Tell us a little about yourself. 53 years old, married to my wife for 29 years, two daughters (one recently married), the other heading to college this fall. I am a sales & marketing professional by trade, and creative communication is my gift, but I prefer exercising that passion in the service of Jesus and the church. I am deacon for adult teaching at our church and teach regularly.
What was your motivation behind this project? Some years ago, I became fascinated with Aquila and Prisca--the only married couple mentioned prominently in the New Testament. I began imagining what their lives might have been like. I wanted to the portray New Testament characters, heroes to be sure, as people not very different than us.
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? I hope people will gain a deeper appreciation of the early church, but I also hope they will be entertained and inspired. By understanding that the people of the New Testament are much like us, perhaps readers will realize that they can have every bit as much impact on the world as they did.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? After Jesus, of course, the greatest influence in my life has to have been the loving brother who taught my wife and me the gospel.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: There are supplemental materials about the book and me at www.peculiarpeoplenovel.com. The story is about Priscilla and Aquila and the affect their story has on the estranged young woman who is mysteriously led to their long- hidden scroll.
