Product Description

The founding director of Duke University's Initiatives in Theology and the Arts and a senior member at Wolfson College at Cambridge, Jeremy Begbie is one of today's leading interpreters of Christianity and the verbal, visual, and musical arts. He has been at the forefront of teaching and writing on theology and the arts for more than twenty years. Amid current debates and discussions on the topic, A Peculiar Orthodoxy emphasizes the role of a biblically grounded creedal orthodoxy showing how Christian theology and the arts can enrich each other. Throughout the book, he demonstrates the power of classic trinitarian faith to bring illumination, surprise, and delight whenever it engages with the arts.
