RuthUpstate SCAge: 45-54Gender: Female3 Stars Out Of 5recommend with reservation (personal opinion)May 24, 2014RuthUpstate SCAge: 45-54Gender: FemaleQuality: 3Value: 3Meets Expectations: 2Fantastic story and much too real and close to home. Somewhat frightening and makes one think.
And the author is entitled to his opinions which he fairly freely puts forth. Global warming seems a priority with him.
Some of the tech stuff I found fascinating; some hard to follow. I.e. if the cloud is so ubiquitous and so free to all then how is it that the villains supposedly are clueless or at least mostly so?
I also like the peace plan. It sounds workable.
I liked the dead-pan faces toward the end of the book.
Not to spoil it but there is a real cliffhanger about the guy who records an arrest and 'shoots' it to the clouds...only just! And then what? (: )
DisappointedWashington, DCAge: 45-54Gender: female3 Stars Out Of 5OK, but has one major flawDecember 29, 2010DisappointedWashington, DCAge: 45-54Gender: femaleQuality: 3Value: 4Meets Expectations: 3There are some good things about this book. The scenario is a very real one. The author uses some real-world new (late 2009) technology information that most people don't know. The answers to the questions in the back are very interesting. Sometimes the action in the book is too slow. But the biggest drawback is the very transparent propagandist "lovefest" for our current president. It permeates the book and will be the main reason that I do not buy the sequel.
LichenFLORIDAAge: 55-65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Techno-Christians !November 29, 2010LichenFLORIDAAge: 55-65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 4Meets Expectations: 5"Peace" shows how Christians use the latest technology to further God's plans even in dire circumstances. This book presents a possible scenario that makes one think it could more likely be probable. I can't wait for the sequels "Oil" and "Temple".
