Lawrence Tucker is an almost washed out actor who brings his mischievous 10 pound terrier Jellybean to the small town of Albatross. Tucker persuades his socially awkward violin tutor, Misty Agnelli to dog sit for him. This is so out of her comfort zone, since she normally gives violin lessons through Skype. During her travels with Jellybean, she meets Bill Woodson, owner of The Chocolate Shop. The two are at opposite ends of the personality spectrum. Now thrown together by Jellybean, their lives will never be the same.

Misty Agnelli is a young woman who is more than painfully shy, preferring to stick close to home, even teaching violin lessons over Skype, after a traumatic event in her childhood that she never quite recovered from. Bill Woodson is a handsome, charming man who has taken over the role of father to his three year old niece, Fiona, who has not uttered a sound since her parents died in a car accident. Bill has secrets of his own. Misty is in their small town as a violin tutor and assistant to an actor, Lawrence Tucker, during the filming of a movie. Lawrence's zany little terrier, Jellybean, brings them all together. There is a lot of humor in this book, especially centered around the antics of Jellybean. The descriptions of the luscious chocolates Bill makes in his shop, Chocolate Heaven, may make you wish for some chocolate of your own, so it's probably a good thing this is a relatively short book. The theme of loving others in spite of their flaws is a good reminder.
I received a complimentary copy of the book with no pressure to leave a favorable review. All thoughts are my own.
Jenny5 Stars Out Of 5Paws for LoveMarch 7, 2017JennyQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Paws for Love (Love Unleashed #3) by Dana Mentink
Dana Mentinks latest book in the Love Unleashed series, Paws for Love, is in my opinion the best book in the series. To be perfectly honest, Im not a dog person (allergic to dogs) but Miss Mentink is one of my favorite authors so I have read all three books. Therefore you wont hear much about the dog in my review. Jellybean is ornery and get into and causes a lot of problems. Each story is a standalone. In this book you will meet Misty Agnelli, a young woman dealing with debilitating shyness. She keeps getting into situations where is forced to deal with people sometimes under funny circumstances. In one of these situations she meets Bill Woodson, a young man opening a new chocolate candy store and dealing with gaining the custody of his three-year old niece whose parents recently died. He also has a deep secret that only a very few people know about. Misty and Bill begin to bond while dealing with Jellybean and recognizing themselves in each other. There were two things that I would have like to see happen that didnt but I loved the story even though they didnt happen. I highly recommend this book to anyone who is a dog lover especially but also anyone that likes a good clean romance with comedy blended in.

Jellybean had the whole town of Albatross in a tizzy. The humans in the story, Misty, Bill, and Lawrence, just wanted to be accepted for who they were. (Isnt that what we all want?) I like the way Ms. Mentink showed that, and showed that you can just be yourself and not have to try to be something you are not. Jellybean already knew that. I really liked reading this book and would recommend it.
I received a copy of this book from the author but was not required to write a positive review.
NanceeGrand Rapids, MichiganAge: Over 65Gender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Delightful!February 21, 2017NanceeGrand Rapids, MichiganAge: Over 65Gender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Paws for Love is one of the most delightful books I've read in a long while. Jellybean is a mischievous and strong willed little dog who overtakes the town of Albatross and all its residents. He is not quite the dog you'd imagine by his sweet name. Misty Agnelli was originally hired to tutor an actor in playing the violin when the actor's dog overtakes her life. Trouble appears to be Jellybean's middle name! The only real advantage was her accidental introduction to Bill Woodson, local chocolatier, as Jellybean takes a detour into the shop tugging Misty with him.
Characters in this sweet tale are truly "characters," quirky, comical, eccentric and sensitive. I loved Misty and Bill, and the relationship(?) that developed by way of Jellybean's shenanigans. Both young people have some pretty serious issues to deal with, but Jellybean's antics are a great distraction.
The small community of Albatross is well depicted, quaint and colorful. The visions that come to mind from the escapades in this story will brighten your day. I thoroughly enjoyed Paws for Love and recommend it highly. Enjoy!

KavRCanadaGender: female5 Stars Out Of 5Amazing!February 20, 2017KavRCanadaGender: femaleQuality: 5Value: 5Meets Expectations: 5Paws down the cutest cover ever!!!! Who can resist that face? Even if it belongs to a "fuzzy wrecking ball?" I don't know if anyone will be surprised if I tell you that Jellybean might have a bigger piece of my heart than two-legged hero, Bill. Such a little scamp (dog, not man) and while I found it highly entertaining to read about his escapades, I think the thrill would soon wear off if I actually lived through them. It takes a certain personality -- one that consists of an abundance of patience -- to cope with that opinionated mutt. Grinning just thinking about it.
And a huge 'hoorah' for a klutzy heroine!!! You don't often find them in the pages of a romance novel. At least I haven't spied that many and as a self-proclaimed klutz I pay attention to things like that. So there was an instant connection between Misty and me. And her deer-in-the-headlights reaction to complicated social situations just warmed my heart even more.
I think what impressed me the most about Bill was his insecurities and the fact that the author went out on a limb to write an atypical hero. He is struggling to adjust to being the sole caregiver to his orphaned niece and feelings of inadequacies keep creeping in. He's an 'out of the box' kind of guy and I love the way Mentink slowly reveals a major issue. I fell in love with his vulnerability and courage.
And even though Paws for Love is slapstick funny -- there's a touching inspirational thread that binds everything together. "God made you to shine a light...You don't get to pick what kind of candle you get." (p 79) Has to be one of my favourite lines ever.
A rousing comedic masterpiece that also delivers a stirring amount of tenderness and hope.
My thanks to the author and Harvest House Publishers for providing me with a copy of this book.
