Excellent work! I see no problem that the chapters were written as articles in a magazine. You will be greatly blessed by this book (which is just as good as his outstanding Work On the Holy Spirit)..! By all means get this book and read it!

First of all let me say that I agree with the concept of "definite atonement" and this book has been helpful in establishing and strengthening this belief.Secondly let me say that this book is both interesting and illuminating in the way that it examines the issues involved from all angles, not least in the way that it highlights the much greater problems that arise from a belief in universal atonement. The problem with this book is that it is really a collection of magazine articles that were never intended to form a book, many of the book's faults arise as it does not hang together as one cogent argument but as a series of separate essays. This book is not a forensic analysis of the subject but a series of clever observations, which is all very well but it could have been much greater. All in all a good book and well worth reading, but it is not definitive and I would suggest reading Owen's masterpiece on the subject (The Death of Death in the Death of Christ) for a more thorough and systematic understanding of the biblical basis of this important doctrine.
