Product Description

Messy Grace shows us that Jesus's command to "love your neighbor as yourself" doesn't have an exception clause for a gay "neighbor"---or for that matter, any other "neighbor" we might find it hard to relate to. Jesus was able to love these people and yet still hold on to his beliefs. So can you. Even when it's messy.

Unabridged audio CD; approximately 5.6 hours; 5 CDs; read by the author.

The message of this book is an invaluable addition to one of the hottest and most controversial topics today. Kaltenbach provides a unique voice to the conversation because of his upbringing in the LGBT community. He writes about the tension between truth and grace, and this tension is not as clear cut as it may seem. Standing by the traditional explanation of biblical texts relating to homosexuality, Kaltenbach explores the application of the gospel of grace in keeping with the truth of Scripture, which is not easy. When the rubber meets the road between what the Bible says and how we apply these truths, we find that the tension is indeed real and does get messy. Theological talk is cheap when faced with the real challenge of grace in dealing with sinful humanity. Kaltenback shares his personal story of meeting Jesus, navigates the Scriptures as to what it really says about homosexuality, and then seeks to reconcile biblical truth with generous grace, the tension with which we live on a consistent basis. In the audio version, Kaltenbach narrates his own book to make it more of a passionate plea rather than reading words from a page. This book tackles some difficult truths and asks Christians to get beyond the surface issues, such as homosexuality, and get into the real battle against our common adversary, the Devil. Whether you are homosexual, straight, or confused, we are all in this messy life together fighting against the same enemy, not each other. I received this audiobook from christianaudio.com as part of a reviewing program and was not obligated to write a positive review.
