Our story is one of the amazing work of God in the lives of two ordinary people. As we glance back, we have truly been on an adventure with Him all our lives. The word adventure means both excitement and danger and we wouldnt recommend living life any other way.
As children, we both had the experience of being raised by parents who lived their own parent adventure that prepared us for life with God. While children, we put our faith and trust in a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. While teenagers, we fell in love with Gods Word and surrendered our lives to God to do whatever He desired to do with our lives.
As young adults, God brought us together a country girl who planned to be a lawyer and a young man somewhat disillusioned after returning from college giving up a football scholarship. We married and took off to seminary to begin our marriage ministry adventure with Him.
Now, after more than thirty years of marriage and ministry together, having raised two daughters who are now off having their own adventures with God, we are so thankful our lives have intersected with yours.
The Parent Adventure: Preparing Your Children for a Lifetime with God is a message we have lived, learned from Gods Word, and tried to help other parents live out with their children. Through the pages of this resource, we pray that you would fully embrace one of Gods greatest adventures, to prepare our children for a lifetime with Him. Also included is extensive current research that will provide you insight into what parents are thinking today.
Through our stories, we hope you laugh, maybe even shed a tear, but mostly that you join the adventure of parenting. May you find encouragement and be challenged to develop your own personal parent adventure plan. May God truly open your eyes to the potential and possibilities that await your children.
Thank-you for considering joining us in sharing the stories and principles found in The Parent Adventure: Preparing Your Children for a Lifetime with God. May your own parent adventure begin today as you get your children ready for their own adventures with God.
