Rachel1 Stars Out Of 5DisappointmentFebruary 6, 2016RachelQuality: 2Value: 1Meets Expectations: 1I can overlook the really bad acting, bad editing, and odd story line set-up. The disappointment came with the high level of sexual content. Whomever wrote this script seems to be having internal struggles, because it isint normal or necessary to include such graphic language to get your point across.

That there are demons wrecking havoc on earth. Most "ghost" hunters think that the "ghosts" are people who have died that are haunting places, like old hospitals, prisons and houses but they are all demons. The dead don't talk to anyone. Those who have died are either in Heaven or hell, not roaming the earth. Demons know your weaknesses and if you don't Have Christ in your life, you can get hurt by demons. I would recommend this movie to anyone who wants the truth. Another thing, demons can manifest into someone you know who has died and some people actually believe it's their dead loved one. These are called familiar spirits. It says in the word of God that we are to test the spirits that they are from God.

It went over well and they loved it. It wasn't scary to me although there were screams and cold chills throughout the room of teens! Great movie to be a low budget film. This is what the world needs more of, movies with more Christianity and less blood, guts and four letter words!!!! Great movie to watch with older youth!
LRoseAge: 18-24Gender: female2 Stars Out Of 5Disappointing and UnrealisticDecember 27, 2012LRoseAge: 18-24Gender: femaleQuality: 1Value: 2Meets Expectations: 1(May contain SPOILERS.) While this movie's Biblical truth of what any kind of "paranormal" activity truly is, that is about all that was good about the movie. The rest was just really disappointing and very cheesy. The acting was horrible almost the entire movie and the plot was over-the-top, especially with the older male character who's a writer. When 16 his girlfriend had an abortion because he didn't want to be a dad so young, then apparently she commits suicide because of it, as a young adult he convinced a friend of his who was just about to give his life to Jesus to come to a party from which he got very drunk and then died driving home and is now tormented in hell, his mom wanted him to hang a bird feeder for her but he cancels and she decides to do it herself and dies falling off the ladder, and his 8 year old daughter died jumping on a trampoline when he went inside the house for a second. Just a little too much to be believable...
Besides the corny acting and unrealistic plot, the actual parts of the movie showing the "hauntings" is just not realistic either. My family has experienced evil and demonic activity for a long time and personally I have experienced it as well. I don't claim to be an expert, but from my experiences and from other people I've talked to, the things in the movie are just silly. The only thing that was close to what I've known demonic activity to be like is when he was getting held down in bed and when he saw some visions. The other stuff is silly and I doubt would happen (the writing all over the mirror, the first time he plays the Ouija board it straight-out says "kill yourself," his mom on the TV talking to him, his friend in the bathroom yelling at him, and I could go on). I guess these things could just be representative of what was going on in his head, but it still seems too over-the-top. These things really make me doubt that the writers, actors, or anyone else involved in this movie has ever experienced evil spirits themselves, or has even talked to anyone who has.
Since I have experienced demonic activity first-hand, I was really hoping for this to be a good Biblical based movie about demons and spiritual warfare with useful information, but unfortunately it just wasn't. I think this movie would have been a lot better if they would have minimized the acting parts and made it as more of a documentary. They could interview people who have experienced paranormal events themselves and also have pastors and/or priests give their understanding of what the Bible says of these things. I think it would be much better that way and be more realistic and informative. Since this is a topic our culture is so fascinated with I really hope a better movie is made about this topic Biblically that you wouldn't be embarrassed to show to friends or family and that someone outside the Christian faith could take seriously.
Abundant Life Worship Center1 Stars Out Of 5March 20, 2010Abundant Life Worship CenterThia movie is NOT what you may think it is. Though there is some biblical advice on dealing with society's infatuation with the paranormal; there is no repentance from the people who are messing around with sorcery and witchcraft and there are far too many questions to be answered. I was going to show this to my youth group but it would just spark their interest with paranormal and may even lead them astray. On top of this, the acting was hardly believably and frustrating. Do not waste your money and find out the truth about paranormal from the Bible!

Tell us a little about yourself. Cross Shadow Productions was formed in 2007 with one goal in mind: Make fun, uplifting Christian entertainment that delivers the Truth of the Gospel with a shot of adrenaline. Since 2007 CSP has completed 4 films: Pray, Pray 2: The Woods, Pray 2.5 - Director's Cut, and now Paranormal in 2009. None of our projects contain gratuitous violence, sexuality or offensive language. We also portray Christians in a positive light and not in the stereotypical ways most movies do. Lastly we always make sure that there is a Biblical message in each of our films.
What was your motivation behind this project? The world is witnessing an all-time peak in the fascination with the "Paranormal". From people trying to capture evidence of ghosts with scientific equipment, to things like ESP (extra sensory perception) becoming more and more acceptable in everyday life. We, as Bible believing Christians, are concerned about not only the lost, but also the Church not being educated as to the true risks and Biblical viewpoint on these subjects. We decided to make Paranormal to convey this information in a fun and entertaining way. It's a sermon with an adrenaline rush included!
What do you hope folks will gain from this project? Understanding: 1. The stand the Bible takes on the existence of ghosts, mediums and the related subjects. 2. That they have victory only in the ultimate Champion: Jesus. 3. A fun filled evening that will leave them with a lot to discuss and an opportunity to use the Bible study we provide to dig deeper into what the Bible says about this subject.
How were you personally impacted by working on this project? Working on a film about Spiritual Warfare will never be without it's share of conflict. By the nature of the information we are trying to reveal and debunk, we, in essence, paint a bulls-eye on our back in the spirit realm. I am glad to say though, that with lots of Prayer for protection and guidance from our Pastors at our Church, we were able to watch the Lord protect us from the attacks. If we ever doubted the existence of Spiritual Warfare - we can safely say we have no doubt left at this point that it is very real.
Who are your influences, sources of inspiration or favorite authors / artists? So we have many influences and inspiration we pull from. We firstly spend a lot of time in Prayer and the Bible to find out where God is leading us. That is always our first inspiration and influence. In terms of current artists, we pull from many genres and directors that we have liked throughout our lives. From Frank Peretti and Ted Dekker, to Hitchcock, Spielberg, and Carpenter - we take a bit of influence from each of the great artists out there as we see it fit into our vision of creating clean, heart-pounding films.
Anything else you'd like readers / listeners to know: Thanks to all who have supported Cross Shadow in our quest! We hope to continue bringing you fun, exciting new projects in the years to come!
