Publisher's Description

Teenage vampires. UFO sightings. Alien invasions. Ghost stories. The zombie apocalypse.

You don't have to look far to see that today's pop culture is becoming increasingly dominated by paranormal beings. Topics that once belonged to the fringes of the occult world have suddenly found their way onto every television channel and magazine cover.

What does this mean for Christians? How do we respond to a culture saturated with the paranormal?

In this compelling book, Dr. Timothy Dailey explores the counterfeit spirituality of the paranormal world. By confronting these phenomena head-on, Dailey exposes the dark truth behind these tales.

"MythBusters meets This Present Darkness in this gripping new book."--Peter Sprigg, senior fellow for policy studies, Family Research Council, Washington, D.C.

In a world that fears an uncertain future, Dailey offers hope: a way back to the one true source of spiritual connection. The only one that can satisfy our souls.
"You will be surprised. Well written and well worth reading!"--C. Fred Dickason, Th.D., professor emeritus, former chair of theology, Moody Bible Institute

"Dailey has taken on a difficult but very important subject and he has succeeded! Read the book, folks. Read the book."--Jim Valentine, director, Christian Apologetics: Research and Information Service

"A well-documented examination and a powerful refutation of this whole dangerous movement."--Walter A. Elwell, Ph.D., professor emeritus, biblical and theological studies, Wheaton College

The Paranormal Conspiracy: The Truth about Ghosts, Aliens and Mysterious Beings

    By Timothy Dailey

As a Christian I see our world being obsessed and overrun with the occult and paranormal. It is seen in music, television shows, books, and even childrens cartoons. The sad part is how widely accepted it is by even those who profess to know Christ. Because the supernatural seems to have no other explanation, ridiculous and impossible stories are believed. I know these things are but a smokescreen to Satans greater and darker agenda in this world.

My desire to read this book was twofold. First, to be able to share the truth based on Gods Word about mysterious occurrences with those who are deceived.

This is not a big book, but it is packed with documented and thoroughly researched material. Mr. Dailey certainly has all his ducks in a row! He pulls the curtain back and exposes these facades for what they are: deception and lies. He also sounds the alarm that this is not innocent fun and games but can result in serious harm to Christians and non-believers alike.

Even though I have never believed in these peculiar events others report, I was curious for an explanation. The author systematically and plainly lays out the subterfuge of each type paranormal incident. He even covers some things I had never thought of. I boils down to the fact there is no evidence to prove any of them to be real. A unique book needed in a time when few are addressing the onslaught of satanic ideas and falsehoods. An excellent resource!

I received this book for free from Baker Publishing Group for this review. I was not required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own. THE PARANORMAL CONSPIRACY-The Truth About Ghosts, Aliens and Mysterious Beings

    By Timothy Dailey, PH.D.

It's obvious which topics the Author prefers-He presents the facts or lack of them with equal enthusiasm.

The common thread of the destructive and deceptive intent of evil is supported by the Author's research from historical to current investigations.

The Author's conclusion is these topics of Social interest are linked by two things-their root in Demons, and the Name of Jesus has authority over them, as with all things evil.

This is not a book for the faint-you will find what you thought the book was about at the beginning, is not what the author is really talking about at the end.

I thought the very chaotic portrayal of the deceptiveness of evil, particularly in the section about spiritual guides very genuine The confusing, manipulative forms of engagement with 'guides' to be beyond slimy and subtle.

I felt a whole new perspective on the poor choices and confusion of our times. What seems common place and "accepted/tolerated" began to look alot like enslavement and a stunting of the God-given freedom to grow, mature and produce good fruit.

The beginning of the book has a journalistic flavor. The end is very intense with the Author's perspective and the eyewitness accounts of very involved and captivated persons whose focus on phenomena stymied their fullness of life and the sharing of their gifts.

Some may find this read interesting and exciting. I found it a work that required careful thought and consideration.

I think a good balance to this work would be Spiritual readings of the Saints encounters with God and His messengers of Goodness, Light, and Life.

I think the contrast would help the reader to discern the Good versus the posers seeking destruction.

-Because this book clearly tells you beware-and shows you how easy it is to get drawn in and trapped.

There was some interesting things brought up in the book. The author came up with some good explanations about bigfoot, for example, but these unexplained rare animals could also be some scientific experiment gone awry! I do agree that people delving into the spiritual darkness will bring hardships on themselves and their families. It is best to stay in the light of Jesus.

Bigfoot, aliens, zombies, UFOs, ghosts, and other paranormal phenomena: superstition, humorous, lighthearted fun, or a true threat to Christians and their faith? Readers will be challenged to answer this and other questions while analyzing Daileys meticulously researched book.

Working on the premise that those who seek fulfillment through paranormal contact are actually searching for love, specifically the love and wonder of God, Dailey lays out some rather complicated scenarios that suggested demonic influence in the paranormal.

Whether or not readers agree with Daileys theories that these occurrences portend evil is up to the reader. Is it possible that a close, loving relationship with God can include some paranormal activity or is it all evil and a threat to salvation and Christian beliefs?

Readers would be well advised to take time to explore Daileys explanations and consider their validity and relation to the Christian faith. Can speculation about UFOs, telling ghost stories or attending a zombie party be dangerous to souls? Is a bit of fun hazardous to Christians? What do these phenomena have in common and how real is the threat?

Each reader may come to a different conclusion as to the threat level. There are no shortcuts to a close loving relationship with our loving God and our personal Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The paranormal can be dark, mysterious, frightening and complicated, so savvy, dedicated Christ followers may be wise to avoid such things.or should they?

I was given a free copy of this book by Chosen Books, a division of Baker Publishing, in return for an honest review. Although the research is considerable and well presented, I did not like this book and cannot recommend it.
