Book Falsely Teaches America is a Democracy
    October 15, 2020
    Nicole Kirk
America is a Republic, not a Democracy, which our Founding Fathers soundly rejected. Thomas Jefferson declared: A democracy is nothing more than mob rule, where fifty-one percent of the people may take away the rights of the other forty-nine. Benjamin Franklin warned, Democracy is two wolves and a lamb voting on what to have for lunch. Liberty is a well-armed lamb contesting the vote! The Constitution itself, in Article IV, Section 4, declares: The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government. If you want to teach your children accurate information about America's form of government, do not use this text.

It really is 'painless' with easy reading for maximum comprehension. My only negative of the product is that page numbers are not given in the answer key. That has tripped up my daughter and I a few times.

This is a very good book to give a general overview about the many facets of our government, without becoming overbearing or dull. Contains many review questions to check student understanding of information presented. Better by far than run-of-the-mill history texts! A bit short on detail in a few cases, but easily supplemented. Good "backbone" book.

This is actually the 3rd item I've tried using to teach my 7th grader government and the only one he can tolerate! I enjoyed reading it to him and am excited to read more. Very easy to understand!

Excellent book. Using for my 11 and 13 year old sons. I got a book for each of them, so they could write in them. Lots of material in bite-sized pieces.
