The Wesley curriculum is the choice of churches that value the holiness doctrinal distinctives and the mission to evangelize and disciple generations for Christ. Over 100 years of curriculum development is combined with contemporary methods and materials to effectively disciple all ages. Wesley curriculum challenges students to be immersed in the love of God and encourages them to complete heart holiness, particularly through Scripture memorization and practical life application.

Distinctives

Bible Translation: Toddler through High School uses NIV; Adult curriculum contains parallel KJV & NIV (1984)
Time frame: 60 minutes, with additional activities for extra time
Format: Classroom Setting
Ages: Toddlers (2 years) to Adult (Unified themes for Grades 2 through 12)
Scope & Sequence:
- 2 Years for Toddler through First Grade
- 3 Years for 2nd through 12th Grade
- 8 Years for Adults

Toddler & PreK Overview + Sample Lessons

The Toddler Teacher's Guide is suited for children 18-36 months of age. The Preschool Teacher's Guide is suited for children 3 - 5 years of age.

Each guide contains 13 age appropriate lessons, activities, supply lists, and more!

Toddlers follow a 3 step teaching format:

  • Bible Step: Includes "Talk Time" to get toddlers engaged and ready for the lesson and "Bible Story Time" to present the story

  • Bible Review Step: Includes "Bible Story Review Time" to quickly review the story with kids and "Music Time" with fun songs that reinforce the Bible story

  • Craft Step: Includes a craft project that reinforces the Bible story through hands-on activities.

Preschool follow a 4 step teaching format:

  • Getting Ready for the Bible: a short time for sharing and building relationship

  • Bible Story Time: includes the Bible Story, Bible Story Review Activity and Questions, and Bible Memory Verse

  • The Bible and Me: three activity choices to help preschoolers apply the lesson to their lives and meet the needs of different learning styles (Includes an activity from Make It/Take It.)

  • Going Home with the Bible: Includes a craft project that reinforces the Bible story through hands-on activities

Elementary Overview + Sample Lessons

The Wesley Elementary Teacher Guides contains 13 lessons and activities, tips for understanding kindergarten and first grade students, and sections for teacher preparation. Every lesson includes ideas for early arrivals and extra class time, a quarterly supply list, and a section linking the current week to the previous week.

Every lesson follows the four-step teaching process:

  • Bible Readiness: an activity to introduce and connect children to the Bible story
  • Bible Story: includes the Bible Story, Bible Story Review Activity and Questions, and Bible Memory Verse
  • Bible Activity Choices: three activity choices that help students apply the lesson to their lives and meet the needs of different learning styles (Includes an activity from Make It/Take It.)
  • Bible Response: an application step to help children take what they have learned into the week at home

Middle - High School Overview + Sample Lessons

The Wesley Middle & High School Teacher Guides contains 13 lessons, activities, and tips for understanding students in 6th to 8th Grade. Every week also has a teacher devotional, Bible backgrounds information and outlines on how to use the Creative Teacher Aide and The Rock student booklet.

Easy four-step lesson plan for teens:

  • Connecting with God's Word: an intro step to get kids engaged with the topic of the week

  • Studying God's Word: the Bible study step where kids will read the week's Bible passage, answer questions, and discuss

  • Interacting with God's Word: the teacher has three choices for activities that will help kids explore the Bible lesson in-class

  • Applying God's Word: application step to help kids take ownership of putting into practice that week's Bible principle

Needed Classroom Resources:

-Middle School: one Teacher's Guide per teacher, one Creative Teacher's Aid per classroom, and take home book per student

-High School: one Teacher's Guide per teacher and one Blueprint Student Magazine per student

Wesley Adult Teacher Resource Kit

The Wesley Adult Bible Study is written and edited by the Wesleyan Theological Editors Board that includes a team of pastors, scholars, and experienced Bible teachers.
