Shipping & Handling Options

Christianbook.com currently offers five shipping & handling methods:

  • Standard Service takes 1 to 2 weeks.
  • Ground takes 1 to 6 business days.
  • USPS Priority Mail takes 1 to 6 business days.
  • Two Day Service takes 2 business days from shipping date.
  • Next Day Service takes 1 business day from shipping date.

Note that Standard Shipping & Handling uses multiple carriers. The optimal carrier is automatically selected to provide delivery based on the destination and weight of your order.

We've listed our shipping & handling charges and other particulars on our rate chart so that you can compare services. Please note that these shipping & handling methods are only available to our U.S. customers.

When shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, or Puerto Rico, only our Standard (up to 1-4 weeks) or Priority (2 to 6 business days) shipping & handling methods are available. See our rate chart for pricing information.

When shipping to a U.S. Territory, only our Standard (up to 2 months) or Priority (up to 2 weeks) shipping & handling methods are available. See our rate chart for pricing information.

If you are shipping to Canada, please check our rate chart for shipping & handling times and costs of your order (listed in USD). Currently, we offer only Standard Canadian Service to our Canadian customers. This method takes from 1 to 3 weeks, depending on your location in Canada. We will add GST or HST (when applicable) to your order if you process it on our site.

A note to our Canadian customers:

  • Please add 1.10% exchange if you pay in Canadian dollars. Example: if your order total is $10.00US, please pay $11.00CAN. If you pay with a credit card, your bank automatically charge you the current exchange rate.
  • Additional duties, taxes or import fees may be charged by your country at the time of delivery.

For shipping to an international destination, our economy air service is available with a 2-6 week delivery time. Please consult our rate chart for shipping & handling times and costs for your order.

Please note:

  • Air delivery to some areas in the South Pacific, Africa, Singapore and Bermuda can take longer. Delivery to the West Indies and the Caribbean can take 12+ weeks.
  • Additional duties, taxes or import fees may be charged by your country at the time of delivery.

When shipping to an APO or FPO address, our Standard (about 2-6 weeks) and Priority (about 1-2 weeks) shipping & handling methods are available.

For an additional $1.70, you can upgrade Standard Shipping & Handling to include Postal Air Lift (PAL) to expedite delivery (1-3 weeks), be sure to check the appropriate box during the order process. See our rate chart for pricing information. We recommend Priority Shipping & Handling for orders being sent to military addresses.

Christianbook.com delivers to penitentiaries, but we suggest you contact the prison first to determine if there are any special regulations. Some prisons don't allow delivery of hardcover books. Others place a limit on the number of items contained in a package. We cannot send any packages anonymously to inmates and all packages must be sent via US Mail. We cannot ship UPS to prisons.

The majority of our framed art can be shipped to any address in the continental U.S. (not Alaska or Hawaii) via any shipping & handling method we offer. Due to size restrictions, a few framed art pieces as well as other large products cannot be shipped via standard delivery. These same pieces cannot be shipped to Canada or anywhere outside the continental U.S. If you have any questions regarding shipping & handling of framed art, please feel free to contact us.

Postage & handling is based on the total cost of your order, not the weight of the package. When you complete your order at Christianbook.com, our online ordering system will automatically calculate the postal & handling charges based on the total cost of the particular order.

Yes! Sending a gift from Christianbook.com is quick and easy. Christianbook.com products make excellent gifts, and our wide selection will allow you to find something for everyone on your list.

When completing your order online, simply check the box marked "Is this a gift?" in the "Shipping & Handling Information" section. We'll do the rest. We include a packing list (without prices) along with the gift to the recipient and send the invoice (with prices) to you. You can even add a note to the order in the "Gift Message" section. Our gift shipping & handling method is easy and reliable, and your friends are certain to love the gesture!

If computer software is being ordered along with other items, then shipping & handling for the software is free. If the software is the only item on your order, then the shipping & handling charge will be figured at the minimum charge for the shipping & handling method you choose.

Yes! Our customers in the New England states can avoid shipping and handling charges by selecting our Customer Pick Up option when checking out. To take advantage of this free service, just place your order online or by phone 1-800-CHRISTIAN (1-800-247-4784) by 12:00 noon and pick it up on the next business day between 1:30pm and 6:00pm. In the order process choose Customer Pick Up as your shipping method. The correct pick up date will be displayed during the order process. Print out your Order Confirmation and bring it with you. Please contact us at 978-573-2350 to let us know you have arrived to pick up your order. Your order will be waiting for you in the lobby of our building in Peabody, MA.

Please note that because your order will be sold in Massachusetts, we must charge sales tax on all items except for clothing and Bibles. If you have tax-exempt status, be sure to have your certificate of sales tax exemption (available from the Massachusetts Department of Revenue) on file with us before placing your order.

What if you're a church in New York or New Jersey and you want to avoid the shipping cost for a van load of new pew Bibles? When you place your order online, the Customer Pick Up option is only available if you are located in New England (ME, VT, NH, MA, CT, and RI). But if you place your order by phone, the folks in our call center will be glad to accommodate you.
