Level 1A

Singapore Math's Primary Math, Standards Edition series features the Concrete> Pictorial> Abstract approach. Students begin by learning through concrete and pictorial means before moving into abstract thought and development, which encourages an active thinking process, communication of mathematical ideas, and problem solving. The spiral approach encourages mastery through the modeling method, which helps students to visualize problems as they work on specific skills.

Primary Mathematics, Standards Edition Book 1A teaches students numbers 0-10, addition, subtraction, naming number positions, counting, common shapes, comparing and measuring length and weight. 120 pages, softcover. Grades 1-2. In this series, these textbooks have been aligned with the Mathematics Framework for California Public Schools. Standard Edition books differ in that they include units on probability and data analysis, as well as negative numbers and coordinate graphs. These skills are not taught in the Primary U.S. Edition.

These non-consumable textbooks are meant to be completed with adult supervision and teaching. Featuring the learning tasks, practice and review problems, the sold-separately Primary Mathematics Standards Edition 1A Workbook is designed to be used alongside this text for necessary practice.

Please note: The Primary Mathematics Standards Edition resources cannot be used interchangeably with the Primary Mathematics U.S. Edition resources. Answers are in the sold-separately Primary Mathematics Standards Edition Home Instructor's Guide 1A.

Singapore Primary Math, Standards Edition Workbooks are consumable and should be used in conjunction with the corresponding textbooks; these Standard Edition workbooks are not compatible with other Singapore editions (e.g. U.S. 3rd Ed.). Containing independent student exercises, workbooks provide the practice essential to skill mastery; each chapter in the textbook has corresponding problems in the workbook while review exercises help students to consolidate concepts they've learned previously. A variety of exercises are presented in the concrete>pictorial>abstract approach. 200 pages, softcover. Grades 1-2.

This workbook accompanies the sold-separately Primary Math Textbook 1A. Answer keys are not included and may be found in the Primary Mathematics Home Instructor's Guide Standards Edition 1A.

This book of tests accompanies Singapore Math's sold-separately Primary Mathematics Standards Edition 1A Textbook. These tests follow the concepts taught in the textbook, with each chapter including a Test A and Test B; each unit also includes a Cumulative Test.

Test A consists of questions that assess students' grasp of mathematical concepts while developing problem-solving skills. Test B is optional (and may be used as a re-test, if needed) and consists of multiple-choice questions aimed at testing students' comprehension of key concepts.

In Cumulative Tests A and B, questions from earlier units are incorporated into each test, focusing on review through integrated concepts and strands.

147 pages, perforated and three-hole-punched, softcover. Grades 1-2. A line-listed answer key is provided at the end of the book.
