Math-U-See Beta

Math-U-See is a comprehensive, skill-based math curriculum for grades K–12 that follows a multi-sensory, mastery approach. With a clear, logical sequence, it helps students understand math concepts—learning not just how to solve problems, but why they work. Each lesson includes step-by-step instruction, video teaching (DVD or online videos), and hands-on manipulatives. Parents present new concepts and guide students through the “build-write-say” strategy for practice and review. Student-paced and easy to teach, Math-U-See provides clear guidelines for assessing mastery so students can move to the next level confidently.

Math-U-See Beta builds on Alpha's focus on mastery of single-digit addition & subtraction with a focus on addition & subtraction for multiple-digit numbers. This level also covers understanding and using place value, solving for an unknown addend, understanding US currency, comparing numbers and lengths, and more. The Beta set includes everything needed for a full year of math: an Instruction Manual with 30 detailed lessons, a consumable Student Workbook, the Integer Block Kit and poster, and lifetime access to Online Instruction with Video. The video lessons, taught by Math-U-See creator Steve Demme, help parents understand how to teach each concept.
