Math Mammoth Curriculum

Math Mammoth Foundational Word Problems helps students in grades 4 through 7 who are struggling to master word problems by taking them “back to the beginning.” Instruction, examples, and strategies using third-grade level math guide students through the steps to solve the problem by encouraging them to write down their calculations, diagram the story in the problem, and choose the correct operation to get to the answer.  Most problems require two or more steps to solve and cover addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, money, time, and geometry. Please note that the Canadian version is a copy of the US version with the following differences: the Canadian dollar is used to teach currency, including counting Canadian coins and rounding to the nearest five. The system of metric measurements is taught, and large numbers are formatted with a space for the thousands separator. Canadian English spelling of words is used when applicable.
