Each chapter focuses on a different topic_from animals to synonyms_and there’s a final chapter to review everything they’ve learned! Words Are Wonderful provides an interactive approach to building vocabulary skills combined with word study. Students learn that words are made of roots, prefixes, and suffixes that, along with context clues, can help to unlock the meanings of unfamiliar words. Lessons begin with high-interest reading passages, drawn from science, social studies, geography, myths, fables, and poetry, with a range of vocabulary words. Comprehension and critical thinking questions, vocabulary exercises, dictionary skills, writing exercises, and other strategies for learning to read and remember vocabulary words are also included. Interactive components include clapping syllables, reading aloud, discussing new words may appeal to kinesthetic learners.

For elementary students, A Spelling Dictionary contains about 1,400 high-frequency words that make up more than 90% of the words young writers will use. A thematic Word Bank and mini-thesaurus helps students choosing engaging alternatives to build writing skills. A Spelling Dictionary for Writers adds about 4,000 words to cover 95% of middle schoolers' written vocabulary, which includes more advanced themes and technology, communication, and culture concepts. Both resources are comprehensive but accessible reference tools for improving students' compositions and encouraging self-sufficient and resourceful writers.

Sitton Spelling & Word Skills provides students with the spelling, language, and word skills that will help them become better writers. In the units, the "Build Skills and Word Experiences" section give students opportunities to visualize, collect, and analyze words, make inferences, and construct more words using affixes. The "Assess Words and Skills" section focuses on specific words that are targeted for study and continually reviewed until the student spells them correctly. Ridgewood Analogies for grades 4 - 6 teaches students to solve analogies using five kinds of relationships: descriptive, comparative, categorical, serial, and causal, with gradually increasing levels of difficult vocabulary. The analogies are organized by subject areas: geography, history and government, language arts, and math. Analogies 1, 2, 3 for grades 7 - 12 teach techniques for complex analogies and increase students' vocabulary. Grades K - 12.
