Getting to the Core of Writing

Help students boost their written communication skills with Getting to the Core of Writing workbooks! This series is designed to fulfill two objectives: to teach writing as an essential part of literacy development and to provide teachers with a clear way to support the Common Core State Standards for writing.

Focusing on the traits of quality writing: ideas, sentence fluency, organization, word choice, voice, and conventions, 7-12 lessons on each trait are taught through a variety of writing assignments, graphic organizer helps, and reading connections.
