Explode the Code is a researched-based, multisensory, Orton-Gillingham based program that builds essential literacy skills through direct, systematic, phonics instruction. Bestselling Wordly Wise provides comprehensive instruction as it builds vocabulary along with reading, writing, and critical thinking skills. Lessons give engaging, contextual vocabulary instruction that start with 15- to 20-word lists that include definitions with sentence examples, much like dictionary entries. A selection of activities follow, which may include matching words and definitions, matching synonyms, identifying whether words were used correctly in a particular context, analogies, work with Greek and Latin roots, sentence completions, reading passages followed by comprehension questions, discussion/writing extension ideas, and other exercises. Grades K - 12.

Students practice letter-sound relationships with decodable readers. The Alphabet Series with full-color illustrations for grades K - 6 contains decodable, controlled vocabulary, with engaging stories for beginning and struggling readers. Students will practice applying phonics rules while they develop comprehension skills. Word lists, fluency sentences, and comprehension questions are also included. Initially developed for dyslexic students, it can be used as a core or supplemental program and is ideal for differentiated instruction. Materials include a Teacher’s Manual, student workbooks, decodable readers, and more.

PAF (Preventing Academic Failure) is a 3-year program that uses Orton-Gillingham multisensory techniques to teach reading and spelling. It is designed to be used with Kindergarten and first graders with learning differences. It can also be used with older students who are struggling with reading. The building blocks of written language arts are presented in a logical, step-by-step order to help students experience more confidence and less frustration.

Reading Comprehension in Varied Subject Matter features nonfiction reading passages covering social studies, science, literature, mathematics, philosophy, logic, language, the arts, and more. These passages are followed by comprehension questions and activities that build recall, inference, and writing skills while preparing students for standardized tests. Available for grades 2-11, with levels for early readers, middle grades, and older students.

The Reasoning & Reading series helps students develop essential reasoning and critical reading skills in order to build competence in reading comprehension, problem-solving, and text analysis. The series combines reading exercises with language-based reasoning activities and writing exercises. Students will evaluate what they read based on word meaning, sentence meaning, paragraph meaning, and reasoning skills, such as cause and effect, fact and opinion, relevant and irrelevant information, and drawing inferences.

In this 3-book grammar series, students will discover that grammar is just another name for the patterns that exist in language. In lessons students identify grammatical principles and rules as they analyze examples and answer directed questions. a variety of traditional and innovative exercises provide practice and review. The three workbook levels are grades 5 to 6, 7 to 8, and 9 to 10. Softcovers.

Using Spellwell, just 30 minutes of lesson-time per week will have your students absorbing new grade-level words that they'll find in their reading experience. Lessons include words that follow a specific spelling rule or pattern, sight words, as well as room for words that the student or teacher chooses, such as words that are part of science or social studies topics. Independent activities like rhyming words, puzzles, adding affixes, writing stories, and bingo games are completed outside of the lesson time to encourage mastery and review. Writing skills are also developed through exercises that ask students to write a paragraph on a specific topic, incorporating their spelling words. The Teacher's Manual is required and covers all four levels. Each level covers multiple grades due to the complexity of the skills and rules being taught.

Diana King's comprehensive Writing Skills program provides step-by-step instruction in grammar, composition mechanics, usage, and editing. With content that gives an essential foundation in thinking and writing skills for beginning, struggling, and reluctant writers, as well as offering strategies, techniques, with opportunities to practice to proficient and advanced writers, this structured program helps build fluency and confidence. In addition, workbooks for spelling, handwriting, and keyboarding fill in gaps that other programs overlook. Grades 2 - 12.

Just Write helps students become confident, expressive, and creative writers through fun exercises, engaging text, and kid-friendly examples. Lessons guide students through the writing process from initial idea to final edited and published narrative. Detailed models are included throughout, giving kids a helpful guide for each new skill. The Grade 1 workbooks provide drawing activities to help children bridge the gap between thinking and talking about an idea and then writing about it. Each level contains 9 weeks of lessons. Grades 1 - 4.

The Paragraph Book Series is a specialized writing intervention program that targets middle school students with learning differences who have not been successful in conventional language arts programs. Its step-by-step approach builds writing competency by focusing on foundational skills. Students learn how to edit, format, and build paragraphs while mastering narrative, expository, cause and effect, compare and contrast, and persuasive essay writing. The Words I Use When I Write consumable books become personal dictionaries for students. Building on a high-frequency word list, students add new words they choose from their daily reading or experiences. This format allows for differentiated instruction as students at different levels will compile words that are most meaningful and helpful for them. The My Journal books allow students to select topics and words for journal writing. They are ideal for special products, theme studies, or personal writing. Space for illustrations or graphic organizers are followed by lines for writing. Grades K (My Word Book, Mi Libro de Palabras) through 6.

Write-On Handwriting provides lessons on letter formation through easy-to-understand instructions. Plenty of drills provide opportunities for practice so students develop motor memory. Workbooks are specialized for either left-handed or right-handed students and include an instructor's manual at the beginning, which contains teaching tips, lesson plans, and finger exercises for students. The workbook portion includes step-by-step activity pages that group letters according to their initial pencil stroke. Upper and lower case letters and numbers 0 - 9 are taught. Printing workbooks include learning the days of the week and months of the year are also included. Cursive workbooks include work on synonyms and state capitals. Workbooks are spiral-bound at the top for ease of writing.

The EPS Dyslexia Training Program introduces reading and writing skills to students identified as dyslexic or at risk for dyslexia through a two-year cumulative series of videotaped lessons (not included). The program emphasizes intense phonetic analysis of written language and is presented in a structured, multisensory sequence of the alphabet, reading, spelling, cursive handwriting, and listening. Let's Read series Books 4 - 6 provide supplementary reading practice.

This ungraded, multisensory curriculum teaches phonics and the structure of language at both the elementary and secondary levels. Using the Orton-Gillingham approach, it teaches handwriting, spelling, reading, reading comprehension and oral and written expression. The program consists of the Foundations for Literacy, Situation Spelling, and Situation Learning teacher's guides, Situation Learning student workbooks appropriate for all ages, and Alphabetic Phonics workbooks for lower elementary grades. These tests identify students who may have dyslexia or specific language disability. Forms evaluate visual-motor coordination, visual memory, visual discrimination, auditory-visual discrimination, auditory memory-to-motor ability, orientation in time and space (Form D), and ability to express ideas in writing (Form D).
