Here are the basics! These Handwriting Without Tears Teacher's Guide and workbooks are what you need to start your child in foundational penmanship skills. Purple books are for the transitional kindergarten level and Orange books are Kindergarten level. Please note that the Teacher Guide will refer to additional manipulatives and other resources that are sold separately below. You decide which tools your child needs to succeed!

Handwriting Without Tears Kindergarten Kit

Handwriting without Tears aims to make legible and fluent handwriting an automatic, mastered skill. Simple for home educators to use, children develop their writing skills through multisensory play-based instruction. Activities with hands-on materials-Wood Pieces Set, Capital Letter Cards, Mat, CDs, Slate Chalkboard, and Blackboard-address different senses to teach correct formation, spacing, sequencing, and other writing skills.

The student workbook provides the examples, practices, and exercises for the kindergarten student. Perfect for children who need to develop fine motor skills, are still learning prepositions and direction terms, and do not yet know or write letters and numbers, this course will provide a fun, multisensory curriculum to start off their language arts knowledge. Lessons include large step-by-step models that are easy to finger-trace, with starting dots to ensure correct formation. "Learn & Check" sections help teachers and students check letter, word, and sentence skills. 94 pages. Pages are reproducible for the same child's practice and benefit. This kindergarten teacher's guide provides structure for teachers who prefer the lessons outlined by day and week, while page-by-page lesson plans give multiple strategies for teaching the readiness activity or letter. The Big Sheet Draw & Write 11" x 17" sheets are perfect for writing and drawing. Use for full length sentences or to build a 8.5" x 11" journal by folding pages in half. The Wide Double Line Paper solves the problem of line confusion and helps keep letter placement uniform and neat.

The Rock, Rap, Tap & Learn Audio CD features songs to help develop coordination and rhythm, developing self-esteem and body awareness through upbeat and "rocking" songs.

The set of capital letter cards is designed to be used with Wood Pieces Set for Capital Letters. Cards show the correct formation of capital letters with size, shape, and position concepts. Following the teacher's example, students place wood pieces on the Mat to make capital letters. The mat and wood pieces can also be used with the Mat Man Hands.

Teach your students letter formations and placement of letters on double lines with hands-on blackboard activities. Measures 10" x 17". The sets of little sponges and little chalk pieces can also be used with the slate for parents using the Wet-Dry-Try method.

This Handwriting Without Tears "Reading and Writing Boost" kit features favorite reading and writing materials perfect for use during the schoolyear or as a "boost" over the summer break. Each bundle comes individually packaged with instructions and resources needed to improve literacy skills.

The LWT Building Writers composition workbooks offer extra practice for developing writing skills. Students become better, more fluent writers as they write about cross-curricular topics and practice narrative, information, and opinion-based writing styles.
