Pearson Learning's AGS Social Studies homeschool curriculum for 4th-5th grade students will bring them through the entire course of United States history up into the 21st century.

Arranged chronologically, the chapters in the Student Text covers US history from the crossing to America by the first nations people through 2005. Interesting sidebar features are integrated throughout, including biography features, "history in your life" segments, "document-based readings" of primary documents, "civics connections," a "focus on economics," "Technology connections," maps, and "writing about history" sidebars. A timeline is also included at the beginning of each chapter which puts events in a broader perspective. Clearly written chapters are complemented by the many photographs of people, artifacts, and landscapes of America. 802 pages, hardcover.

The student workbook complements the student text with multiple activities for each unit; each page is clearly labeled with the textbook pages it accompanies. A variety of exercises, including short answer, word-bank, multiple choice, crosswords, puzzles, and chart completions are included. 144 non-reproducible pages, softcover.

The Teacher's Edition includes reduced-size reproductions of the student text, as well as the student workbook. Answers to the review questions in the text are provided in the margins; however, line-listed answers for the activity book are grouped together in the back.
