Fencing Lessons is a Bible curriculum for students aged 12-16 (Grades 7-11) designed to help strengthen their spiritual disciplines through using God's Word as a spiritual sword.
Each lesson is broken down into four sections:
- A Sword Drill exercise to help students memorize books of the Bible and learn a little about each book through fill-in-the-blank exercises.
- A Sword Play exercise (e.g. puzzles, riddles, word searches, and quizzes) that use God's word to help familiarize students with Scripture.
- A "Fencing Practice" short Bible study based upon the same passage used in the sword play exercise
- A "Thrust and Parry" section that teaches the student to apply God's word to his or her own life
Lessons focus on the importance and power of God's Word, as well as the attributes of God, including His omnipotence, omniscience, omnipresence, love, holiness, justice, righteousness, truth, purity, and wisdom. Chapters also study the "Roman Road" and the basics of Christian Living as obtained through applying God's Word to everyday situations.
