ACE Grade 6 English PACEs

    Accelerated Christian Education (ACE) curriculum has Scripture as its foundation, fully integrating biblical principles, wisdom, and character-building concepts into education. Students move at their own speed through the self-instructional "PACE" workbooks. Following the mastery approach, PACEs are formatted for students to complete the exercises found throughout the workbook, take a practice "self test," and conclude with a "final test" (torn out from the center) to measure understanding.

    Students will learn about how to write correctly as they learn grammar, reading, and writing skills. This set includes English Grade 6 PACEs 1061-1072, which cover:

  • Word concepts-antonyms, synonyms, homonyms, and heteronyms.
  • Nouns-common, proper, compound, singular, plural, possessive; and learns about collective nouns and nouns in apposition.
  • Verb knowledge (action, linking, state-of-being, regular and irregular) to include verb tenses (present, past, future), and conjugation of all six tenses; verb agreement; and the review of troublesome verbs (learn/teach, sit/set, lay/lie, rise/raise).
  • Pronouns-personal (subjective and possessive), interrogative, demonstrative, relative, reflexive, and indefinite.
  • Parts of speech-comparisons using adjectives and adverbs, prepositions and phrases, coordinating conjunctions, interjections, and diagramming.
  • Strengthens sentence writing by using sentence patterns, interesting words, and exact nouns; recognizes subject and verb agreement; and types of clauses.
  • Writing paragraphs and begins outlining and research.
  • Simple, compound, and compound-complex sentences with effective coordination and subordination of ideas to express complete thoughts.
  • Types of sentence patterns and clauses.
