I am an overweight woman that has struggled with overeating for most of my adult life. Trying to manage that I have had issues with binge eating, but that is under control, by the grace of God. I love June's books. She gives you stories that you can connect to and always brings it back to the Bible. This isn't a diet book. June doesnt try to give you a 1 size fit all approach because we dont have a 1 size fit all answer or else we wouldnt be dealing with this. Instead she does something much better, she tries to help you get to the root of the issue. To bring it to God in prayer and get His help instead of trying to deal with it on your own. Because really why do we have issues with overeating? There has to be a reason why we would eat when we're not hungry or already full when lots of other people dont. Its beyond this food tastes good. Is it because we dont want want to deal with an emotion and we're stuffing it down with food? Is it because we have other physical or emotional needs not being met? Is it something else we're not giving up to God and trying to control? The point is, we're supposed to turn to God and put Him first in everything, but if we turn to food instead we are not doing this. This is an excellent book to help you get to the heart of the issue, give you scripture and prayers to pray for the issue of overeating. It helped me identify and deal with those issues and my prayer life has become richer. If you want a diet book, this is not for you.

Also, she points the salvation prayer in all of her books assuming the unsaved people might read it. She likes to let them know that through God all things are possible. I think thats great, but since I'm already saced, I just skip over that part.

This short book contained little practical information on overeating or weight management for the average person who does not binge, does not purge, and does not have bulima. It would seem the main context of this book is that if you are overweight you are unsaved. I found this rather judgemental, especially considering how many true Christians I know who have weight issues. I would not recommend this book or this author.
